PowerPoint is great for quick presentations that don't really require a lot of time in preparation (generally) but if you have the time (for presentations you should make time) try out Prezi (prezi.com) it does away with the concept of slides and uses 'zooming' as a way to navigate through your presentation and also allows for easier sharing afterwards. Just a thought!
I loved your presentation. I coach a lot of business people who give financial presentations where they have to display the numbers. How would you do a financial version of your PowerPoint?
Wow. That means that I have a great powerpoint presentation. I hardly put texts. He is right its a distraction, people know what your saying, no one pays attention to what your saying. If you want people to hear you and not see through you then avoid adding to much texts. I remember in high school someone used powerpoint and added on a loooooooooong as text. Paragraph after paragraph. We all wanted to shoot ourselves.

It depends on the subject matter and your audience I think, for example I have a technical presentation and I find bullet points convey the information perfectly, complemented with images.
B.S. to try and compare to Steve Jobs... They practice for days, and they have a teleprompter at the bottom of the stage. As far as loading with images, easier said than done for most powerpoint users. The clip art sucks, and most people cannot tell a story with one image. Not that its impossible, just not gonna happen when you have deadlines.
Wow, so images tell more than bullet point sumary, cool. But for the old fashoned teachers who think that they shoud see bullet points on a power point presintation to make it complete, not a good idea. I'm gonna give it a try.
It's be interesting to see how many people are using their blackberries/tweeting during large business conferences. Probably not the best compliment for a speaker!
I like Andy Bounds take on Powerpoint and I also completely agree on the part where he says do not give out copies of your presentation, as it does make your audience lose interest. Best of all, his advice is very down to earth and easy to understand. That's what I like :) No frills attached!
Andy Bounds gave 8 great tips about how to "pimp your powerpoint" something I think is becoming more and more essential as presentations become electronic. I also loved the spin put on the show similar to MTVs Pimp my Ride
I recommend EPR - easy presentation remote app on iPhone of Knowlicity.
I tried many presentation remote apps but this EPR is the best.
It turns your iPhone/iPod touch into a stylish and reliable remote control for your PowerPoint presentation.

great vid. but i dont agree with the fact that your points should be in order frmo most importanty to least important. heres a better order:
1. second most important
2. least important
3. most important
most people, when reading an article or viewing a presentation remember the end better then whatever they heard before it.

It's amazing how a powerful image can convey so much more that a list of bullet points on a slide.
