Where did I say anything was "by chance"? Lower life forms had survival systems that allowed them to survive. Complex bodily systems are probably the result of mutations, and the only "chance" factor is the mutation itself.

As we get away from God, it's no coincidence just as Candace said there are few shows anymore that show good family morals. A theory in the scientific sense is made up of facts and has not been disproved. Evolution by this definition is a theory, made up of facts and has not been disproved (just like germ theory, gravitational theory etc.). Creationism contains no facts, and is disproved by evolution, therefore it is a fairytale.
The beginning of the universe is separate to evolution. The big bang theory does not violate the first law of thermodynamics. It just means that the universe has a zero net energy value.

I am no scientist so forgive me for any errors in this, but I tend to think that all matter has always existed and there was no beginning of time. I don't know enough about the Big Bang to say it's the answer, but I don't doubt it nearly as much as I do the idea of a god that was needed to create everything yet himself need not be created. Where did I say anything was "by chance"? Lower life forms had survival systems that allowed them to survive. Extinction eliminated those who couldn't adapt, while reproduction resulted in a minor mutation that was either advantageous or not. Complex bodily systems are probably the result of mutations, and the only "chance" factor is the mutation itself.

You don't know what is in the afterlife. You're guessing and hoping, nothing more, nothing less. I have no personal stake in Christianity being true. I have looked at the evidence and that is where it led. What it to me otherwise if it really isnt true?

The problem with religion also is that you're never supposed to question anything about it without being looked down on. It's not like God didn't give us the ability to question, so what sense does it make to not be allowed to question it?

Actually, your comment is very telling. It proves nothing else but the fact that human beings are generally fearful, looking desperately for a way to ignore the reality that after life, there is nothing.

It's her choice of whom she marries not yours. That doesn't make her any less Christian any TRUE Christian would know that. I'm sick and tired of people of religion being so damned judgemental of others. It's not every body and I understand that, but for those of you that are, you need to find another hobby. Just because we different from you doesn't mean we are any less Christian or cursed or anything else you can drum up in your pea-brains.

Thanks, it's cool that we can respect each others opinions. I think that government and religion should stay seperate as well. It gives either side to much power. Besides, I'm sure if Jesus were a live he'd be anti-government. I mean, you shoulda seen the way he tore into the government in his days. But I digress I'm not offended, thanks for being cool :).

Whoa, where do you get your information? Atheism is the absence of a belief in a higher power, and there have always been people who were, by definition, atheists. Christianity is a man-made concept, it is a structured religion and has only been around about 2000 years compared to the few million years of human history. You're saying there have only been people who do not believe in a higher power within the past two thousand years? Maybe you should get your facts straight to begin with!
