Question? If there are juices in the head, why do I see crap when I split the crawfish in half? Is that crap in the head too? The yellow stuff? Ya know?

I have heard it can make you sick, so maybe it could kill anyone if it makes them sick. But they're right in the video, it means they were boiled when they were already dead. But you'll always find em in every batch, it happens. Just don't eat em =)

Straight tail is a myth, repeat Urban legend. a straight tails means that the tail was straight thats all it means, it will not kill you hurt you make you sick or anything else if you eat a straight tail, and it does not mean that they we dead when boiled, all it means is that the taikl was either straight when it died in the water, or it straiten out after death, but for kicks and gigles lets just say it was dead, it still won't hurt you...

I used to live in utah, and every week or so we'd go camping by this creek, we'd never bring food, but we'd bring coffee/drinks and a coffee can, plus lots of seasonings. Every morning after camping we'd go pull tons of crawfish out of the creek and boil them in a coffee can over the camp fire in our special seasoning blend (whatever we had haha). I'll tell you right now, there's nothing better than fresh crawfish that you pulled straight from the creek yourself.

They don't really taste like shrimp or crabs. They have a distinct flavor. It also depends on what you boil it in (crawfish boil) it's a seasoning. Some people put lemons, sausage, onions, and all kinds of good stuff.

I used to catch wild crawfish as a kid (had to watch out for the mounds of fireants floating around). Cook em' with some crab boil. No sauce needed.

you don't "eat the head", you put your mouth where tail used to be and suck the juice out. But yeah like that one dude said i've never tried cocktail sauce but down south we perfer a mix of mayo and ketchup, maybe some tabasco. Either way i love crawfish

yeah, that one has always gotten me, it really doesn't matter if it is or not an intestine, as it has been boiled clean of any harmful bacteria, but I love to hear people call it a vein, especially when it's people that act as if they are the crawfish experts

It's just a euphemism, same thing with "de-veining" shrimp. Sound a lot better than pulling out the digestive tract right? Has nothing to do with them being ignorant, it's just the commonly used term.

@jinjinweiwei Same with shrimp. But I guess they call it that because it sounds more pleasant than "de-pooping" or "removing the poop" from shrimp or crawfish. Haha.

you cant just grow crawfish you have a to have a crawfish farm..typically many acres of land to create a swamp..its not easy..

i dont know where ur from but u dont have to have a farm to have crawfish...some of us in louisiana are lucky enough to live on a crawish feeding ground and we can catch them in our backyard... enough to have a party haha

He's too damn picky for me. I eat it all, the meat and the head. I was born and raised in New Orleans so I know all about crawfish. I literally could have eaten 7 in the time he took to peel that one.

Bullshit. 98% of all crawfish consumed in the US come from Louisiana. About 2/3 of those are farmed.

I used to live in utah, and every week or so we'd go camping by this creek, we'd never bring food, but we'd bring coffee/drinks and a coffee can, plus lots of seasonings. Every morning after camping we'd go pull tons of crawfish out of the creek and boil them in a coffee can over the camp fire in our special seasoning blend (whatever we had haha). I'll tell you right now, there's nothing better than fresh crawfish that you pulled straight from the creek yourself.

They don't really taste like shrimp or crabs. They have a distinct flavor. It also depends on what you boil it in (crawfish boil) it's a seasoning. Some people put lemons, sausage, onions, and all kinds of good stuff.
