@katherine11982 thye might thinki about having a chew but they wont eat it. however I wouldnt use it for bedding personally, do you have many guinea pigs ? because changing their cages everyday must be quite some hastle. anyways I just let me pig run around on the fleece but i suppose it wouldnt hurt to try it as bedding ^.^ good luck hope this helps a little :P

We have three piggy's 2 males and 1 female. Our one boy pig Mearlin is special need he has epilepsy, diabetes with chronic upper respiratory issues, and our other boy is blind. Because the two males are special needs we do cleanings every day especially with Mearlin having so many issues we keep on top of cleanings. I think I will try the fleece and see how it goes.

My guinea pig, Goober, does this same thing (I've had him for 3 months now). He only does it when he jumps onto my lap when we have floor time together (I sit on the floor so I can play and talk to him). I was sincerely worried he was seizing or something.

I see now that Goober just gets so excited that he falls over. XD Thank you for the vid, it eased my worry.

Generally, if the walls are high enough, they won't be able to climb. GP's are pretty bottom-heavy. :)

I have had 21 guinea pigs in my life now (i used to breed them) and they all need attention. I recently got me a gew guinea pig ( i didn't have any for 2 years) and he was scared of everything. I got him a house 9so that he can hide if he is scared or uncomfortable) and i take him out about 5 times a day and just hold him and pet him. He loves to cuddle now and comes out of his house to do some popcorning. It takes time and you will get close to your guinea pig.

Judging by the set up it looks to be a C&C type cage. They're pretty easy to build and gives the guinea pig lots of room to run. They sell the cage and items to build one on Ebay (type in coroplast cage or C&C cage) amongst other stores.

Also take a look at guineapigcages(dot) com for more info on how to build, set up and prepare the fleece bedding =^.^=

The pen is around 26" x 48" or so, and as markVIIchick says, it's a C&C (coroplast and cubes) type. You can often find the cubes at thrift shops and hardware stores, and the coroplast at art supply stores. I use fleece sheets with reusable absorbent pads underneath.

Extremely cute... mine are not as hoppy as your guy. Timbit does seem to almost roll over near the end there. I think it's because they like to twist midair as they hop. Mine do a less extreme version of this. I guess your guy is so excited that he almost flips over!

the fleece you need to clean the poop every day or two days because its start to smell. Also, you need a layer of fleece and a layer of normal towel under it to absorb the urine. if you go on guinea pig web site, alot of info on wich bedding is better to use!

I used to use disposable absorbent pads (for incontinence), but I found reusable ones that work just as well. The pee goes right through the fleece and soaks into the pad. I change it every two days, and just put everything in the wash at the end of the week. Not much I can do about the poo yet, but I'm looking into getting a Dustbuster!

You can train him for make the poo outside or in one side of the cage. I have one that makes the poo outside of his cage. Good fertilizer for plants indeed :D
