i am dam obsessed too with sakuran movie. The story is not that good nor that different..it has been told 1000 of times be4..but the world that shows..all the world surrounding the oiran's lifes...AMAZING.

Do anyone know where i can get information about tayuu and oiran? what is the difference between a tayuu and an oiran?

When did Oiran start to disappear?

They had to disappear in 1957 as the Japanese government brought in laws forbidding prostitution (Immortal Geisha website). The Oiran and Tayuu we see now are dedicated ladies dressing and acting like them.

No, prostitution was outlawed in 1957 but Oiran disappeared centuries before. The last recorded oiran was in 176. There are women currently who keep the cultural aspects of Oiran/Tayuu alive but they are only actresses. True oiran don't exist anymore.
