My buddy Randy is in this vid. I'll ask our friends for deets. The scene still lives in Boston. Actually there's still a scene for everything in Boston. I'm round half his age or less (as with many of my (especially goth) friends) and we party like hell whenever we're in the same place. He's the guy grinning from ear to ear in a pale sweater. Nowadays he's in all tight black and a biker jacket, and works a phoneline, job. I love this music, I love our lives.

Filmed by a couple of MIT students. They set up a 4 camera shoot. One is in B&W and the other 3 are in the primary colors. They later partied with the band later that night and made copies of the show for them.
Probably the first time The Cure played a show then had a copy of it on VHS made especially for them a few hours later!
That's a good piece of information, libertyale. MIT students! Must have been intellectuals. After all, it is MIT is arguably the best in Engineering & Technology. By the way, were you present for the show?
No...wasn't at the show...I would have been 11 years old! Haha! I got a VHS copy of a few songs from this show around 1992 and always loved it. When the internet became poplular I began researching the origins of the film which you can find anywhere now online. Supposedly the guys who shot are pretty proud of it and feature it on their website! The have filmed a couple different bands, but obviously none went on to the mega success or endurance the Cure has had!
Wow! Pebey, you were so lucky. This was the best hase of The Cure. Did you get the chance to meet Robert Smith & company? I saw them for the first time here in London and they were playing to thousands of people (around the world). Above all, how was your experience?

Redcure- did you film this? Lucky are those people who saw The Cure at an early stage in their career when they used to play little clubs and pubs. I saw them for the first time ever at the Royal Albert Hall in April 2006 and they performed 'Grinding Halt'. It sounded something like the version you have uploaded. It was the best concert I have ever seen in my life, so far!
