well i try to overclock my CPU(intel e5200 whit stock cooler) and i set the FSB to 220 and i save to bios. when the computers boots up he stop then at the second boot same it's stop again but at the third he boots up, but the CPU still has 2.5 ghz and FSB is still 200 and when i enter the bios i see the FSB is 220 but is disable. why it can't stay to 220?(sorry bad english :(
well the volts are at 1.25. my motherboard is Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L...shall i make an update to bios?anyway i wll wait to get a new cooler and i will try again :)
i have this cpu and i want to oc but im not sure though. Would i benefit out of it if i do oc to like 2.8 or 3.0 ghz with stock cooling and voltage? Would there be any difference in games?
Hey IntelPentium. I've got a E5200 recently as well but my problem is that my BIOS is quite outdated( i guess). It's running at stock speeds of 2.5GHz. How can i overclock it to anything above 3 GHZ? In the BIOS i can change the FSB and DRAM settings but i cannot find any voltage settings. Any help?
I have an abit motherboard and when i go to oveclock i have to use something called uGuru Utility. Then it says if i want my ram to be linked with my cpu oc. Should i have it linked or not? Other than that thanks a lot man. I'm running at 2.9 now and this was my first oc thanks to you.
I would have it unlinked for now until you know your cpu is stable...oh BTW you gotta make sure you stress test it. using Orthos or prime 95 for a few hours..more like 6-8 on small FFT and make sure your temp is under 70c
I'm getting this CPU for Christmas. I just wanna OC this thing BARELY like to 2.6 or 2.7ghz or so. What should I do in bois? Just knock up a multiplyer or something?
@mynamesDJ360 to get it up to 2.6 or 2.7 will need just an FSB change. Maybe just maybe a slight bump to the V-core depending on the mobo but rarely. Have fun! :D You can get to 3.0easily on this chip on stock cooler with mild temps.
lol yeah man the song I don't like. it was actually gonna be a better one but it got rejected... anyways its called overclocking. Its when you make your computer faster in retrospect of course...
cool, this will be my upgrade cpu till i get a job.. if i get the gigabyte mobo then im going to over clock it, but if i stick with my intel mobo then i guess its stock : ( lol
I did this on my assembled PC *Pentium E5200 *2GB DDR2 RAM *320GB HHD *Windows 7 Ultimate x86 (Not Genuine!)
And when I did a System Rating Assessment, i got a LONG beep from my System Unit! Help?

@Joseph9536 Yes you would need a voltage increase, but it depends on what your computer spec are. I'd say about 1.325 v

When you overclock(no matter about the cpu), its recommended to change the Perfomance Enhance to "Standard", not to "Turbo".

@AlienHD meah, that was a while ago. I have a quad now, its standard. Never knew that though. Thanks!

Overclocking this processor from 2.5GHz to 3.0GHz would I need a voltage increase?
Joseph9536 2 years ago
probably not..you may need maybe 1-3 notches depending on your chip.

yeah definitely. 3.0ghz..but not 2.8
Intelpentium54321 2 years ago
should i worry about the cooling and have you had any problems with your cpu?
Thank you!
sem242 2 years ago
are you on stock cooler? up until 3.5ghz I used stock cooler. 3.325 is the limit for it though

you need some voltage settings in order to get above 3.0ghz. See if there is a utility from your mobo vendor.
Intelpentium54321 2 years ago
3.0 is all i want. how much should i put my voltage for that?
sem242 2 years ago
umm..try likek a few notches from stock 1.2 maybe. I think there is a vid of my volts for 3.0
