This is perfect..2 million views for that lady playing same piece??..Give the maestro respect, nobody can play it as perfect as Richter, except the genius himself Rachmaninoff..
can this be more indelibly linked to the humanity within us all ? I cannot endure to listen to anyone else play this piece but Richter. Splendid, beautiful, eternal
I have this compulsive need to click *LIKE* and *ADD TO FAVOURITES* every time I see this - lest I loose this particular recording somewhere on the interwebs and suffer for eternity. Oh look I have 27 copies in my favs... :P
i have rachmaninoff's a window in time of rach himself playing this piece, and i must say this interpretation of his is MUCH better than the album's interpretation
@InfernityFreak Dude, he was obviously speaking about the classical genre, not the era. I can't tell if you're just a pedant who seeks out every opportunity to correct people even when they're not wrong, or if you really didn't get the context in which he was using the word.
@InfernityFreak I usually correct people with that too, and just so everyone knows, it's not about making you feel bad about yourselves (well, with me it's not). It's just that for concert musicians, classical is an extremely well defined period between 1750 and about 1800, early 1800s. It's not super important, just a distinction.

I find that it is easiest to imagine just about any scene listening to this piece.

@oitotheworld23 That is impossible - Rachmaninoff's own rendition can NOT be matched :-))

It is seriously amazing. No one else than Richter could play this piece like that. I am speechless.

@roblesfredo : Explore a bit more widely. Its not that hard to play. Check the composer himself for example is at least as good.

DarkRaimundo... this is not a classical piece. it is late romantic, early contemporary... it is a beautiful piece though.

The best interpretation.

@bagulhobrasil There is no such thing as a "best" interpretation.

@InfernityFreak That's what sub par players tell themselves when they cry their way to sleep at night?

and this one's mine :)
