  • wow it sounds likeFUCK YOU!, IT SOUNDS LIKE WARREN LAIN

  • @jaffacakesarenice i believe johnny marr had 2 identical guitars of which one he kept in nashville tuning :)

  • Hey Warren, I'm curious. What kind of guitar do you use? It sounds absolutely beautiful.

  • @LMA0NAISE I play a Carter-Poulsen G-Model, and their link is in all my video descriptions.

  • Didn't Johnny Marr use Nashville quite a bit? I think I remember him specifically mentioning the track Half a Person as an example of it.

  • Like this :)

  • i stole it. sorry. <3 make a new song. i'll listen, i swear.

  • that's beatiful

  • Dear Warren,

Hi. How are you doing? Hope things are well. I wondered if you would be so kind as to answer a question for me? Is the tuning that I hear in this video the fore mentioned "Nashville tuning (EABEBE)"? Or am I missing something cause I am very tired from my long weekend? At any rate, I wish you the best at any path you choose to find..... :)

    Your Friend,

    Suckatash

  • The beginning totally sounded like Holocene by Bon Iver!

  • It sounds like something from Zelda.

  • Sounds magical.

  • Hehe, wow, that was gorgeous. High strung tuning is new to me, I'll be sure to check it out man. Thanks.

  • Actually Winter Into Spring is a piano solo album recorded by George Winston. The album I was referring to is called Something of Time by Nightnoise (which has many acoustic guitar tracks in it). 1987!

  • It evokes to me the atmosphere of an album I had - Winter Into Spring - in LP format that I got a long, long time ago. Windham Hill records, I believe. I can't recall the name of the guitarist... I have to go to that spare room where I put my ancient stuff and try to dig it out. Or maybe it's simply here on youtube. Very, very nice. You should try to make it longer.

  • I just learned that this tuning has a name. People are so clever. It's "high-strung" tuning, aka Nashville tuning (although I always thought Nashville was EABEBE). I was working on another song and this was a result of some of the exploration of it. Thanks @ChablesMan.

  • @warrenmusic I feel awesome that Warren Lain himself mentioned me. Can I have bragging rights?

  • Dig it man, and I hear the "Holocene" resemblance that a few others have mentioned.

    Hope all's well!

  • Goosebumps...

  • looking forward to what it becomes that's for sure!

  • Sounds really great!

  • Ok, to be honest, I got exactly the same sounds from those chord shapes from standard tuning. I'm going out on a limb here, is it EADGBE?

  • Reminds me a lot of "Holocene" by Bon Iver. Awesome tuning btw, what is it?

  • Really beautiful Warren, always love your videos. Going to take this opportunity to suggest again you try some of the tracks from Bastion :) 'Setting Sail, Coming Home' or something from the new Ben Howard album? :)

  • Is your guitar high strung?

  • That was seriously beautiful warren! Whats the tuning?

  • Am I the first? Really?
