@alittleolder i come from a very military family 4 navy, 3 marines and 3 army in the last 3 generations. To me Jeremy's performance in the hurtlocker was an excellent effort that showed the struggle of soldiers who have to deal with the morality stress and fear of occupying a nation with a hostile faction at work. to me a warrior should be able to show strength in the face of fear and compassion in the face of pain. its not an easy thing to do.
I want to see if Renner can pull it off. (I enjoy cheering for the underdog, always.) Different authors have written Bourne novels, different actors can play Bourne, imho.

It was weird seeing Paul Greengrass team up with Matt Damon for The Green Zone. It's a good movie no doubt, but it just felt too "samey" to actually stand out.
And to all you saying Matt Damon has been replaced. Actually he hasn't. The Bourne Legacy is a WHOLE story in and of itself and I think it's a step in the right direction for the series. One thing that's always been apparent is that while Bourne is a strong character, the world doesn't revolve around him.

As much as I love Matt Damon and the Bourne movies, I actually think The Bourne Legacy could work. I really liked Renner in Mission: Impossible 4, and I definitely think he could carry a role like this. I just hope that the movie isn't a rehash of the others. @alittleolder i come from a very military family 4 navy, 3 marines and 3 army in the last 3 generations. To me Jeremy's performance in the hurtlocker was an excellent effort that showed the struggle of soldiers who have to deal with the morality stress and fear of occupying a nation with a hostile faction at work. to me a warrior should be able to show strength in the face of fear and compassion in the face of pain. its not an easy thing to do.

Therefore, Matt Damon will obviously not be representing what he left behind. This film reveals the story behind another deadly operative and provides further insight into the inner workings of the Blackbriar organization. This film will be superb and it features a phenomenal cast! Get pumped!

Im sorry while Edward Norton and Jeremy Renner are good actors to us fans, people, viewers it is only fair to keep the same actor of the original movies. I mean we are already familiar with Damon and his character is now identifiable with his face...when I see Damon on a poster or a picture I automatically think Jason Bourne. Why fix it if it aint broken? I want Damon to keep the series going since it fits the character so well.

It was weird seeing Paul Greengrass team up with Matt Damon for The Green Zone. It's a good movie no doubt, but it just felt too "samey" to actually stand out.
And to all you saying Matt Damon has been replaced. Actually he hasn't. The Bourne Legacy is a WHOLE story in and of itself and I think it's a step in the right direction for the series. One thing that's always been apparent is that while Bourne is a strong character, the world doesn't revolve around him.

As much as I love Matt Damon and the Bourne movies, I actually think The Bourne Legacy could work. I really liked Renner in Mission: Impossible 4, and I definitely think he could carry a role like this. I just hope that the movie isn't a rehash of the others. However, I think more people should give it a chance.
