I don't think they are necessarily protesting for a socialist state, they are protesting the fact that the banks aren't regulated (I'm confused as to how someone can defend the fact that the government has promised to bail-out banks that take risks out of the ass); that there are hedge funds everywhere; and that investment banks are not separated from your money.
Although the rights of the minority should be protected in all scenarios, in this case, the same rules should not apply. The 99% of the people in this country have very little to no power when it comes to politics or wealth. In our society the 1% have 40% of everything and have the ability to directly influence change. But if you think the banks alone caused it, you need to read up on your facts. The government passed a bill under Carter, which was intensified under Clinton, which forced banks to loan to certain risky individuals. There are definitely bankers that were greedy, but the fault was both government and private banks.

So the gov. pays the fed with our money, and when we get low on money they print more then repeat and reap the profit.

But if you think the banks alone caused it, you need to read up on your facts. The government passed a bill under Carter, which was intensified under Clinton, which forced banks to loan to certain risky individuals. There are definitely bankers that were greedy, but the fault was both government and private banks.

It appears to me that the movement is not a bunch of democratic socialists looking for handouts and taxes on the rich, but it seems to be the people that realize the problem is the banks, mainly the federal reserve. Our current monetary system is a function for debt. The more money the fed prints the more we owe them a percentage in interest. So the gov. pays the fed with our money, and when we get low on money they print more then repeat and reap the profit.

It still doesn't make it right to do price fixing and other illegal activities just because you give a paycheck to a handful of politicians in Washington.

There are swarms of college graduates with degrees at these protests, I'm having trouble understanding if you just don't get what these protests are about or you just don't have the mental capacity to realize what it is about.
You are probably some high school kid that is living in a bubble thinking if you get a degree it guarantees a good job and pay, goodluck buddy.
