It's great!! Take a classic rock song, redone in the artists own way, and it is still a great song.

I think that says something about the songwriting ability and creativity of Phil Lynott. The soul of a legendary band that seems to be going down in history as being mediocre, but infuential. It's sad, but musicians seem to appreciate the greatness. There tons of bands doing many different songs. Strange, no?

As a huge fan of both SP and Lizzy, I say that all of you need to chill, sit back, and just enjoy the music. Stop arguing who's better, they are incomparable bands, and are, at least in my book, two of the greatest rock groups of all time.

why do people find it necessary to argue about covers or which band did the song more justice. This cover does NOT suck nor does Thin Lizzy's music apply strictly to "old people". Both bands incorporate their own styles which is great but if you do not know who Thin Lizzy is I suggest you educate yourself or if you think SP is just some emo grunge band you can simply go to some Lady Gaga or Britney videos for music more suitable to your tastes.

I checked Thin Lizzy's actual song before coming here because I heard this version by "The Brooke" and liked it so much that it lead me to The Smashing Pumpkins which led me to the actual owners, Thin Lizzy. No disrespect towards Thin Lizzy but I really like the Pumpkins version better, its so intimate and full of emotion IMO.
