  • that look so cool

  • wow al most looks like speical efects

  • good idea to do it by trees

  • @glasswinng777 dude those tree's are like 3 meters away or more..

  • Where did you get the KMnO4?

  • so, I guess keep some of this in the car so you can use it if you need to burn the tires for warmth and to fend off polar bears.

looks a lot better than the classic version, anyway!

  • In the experiences I have with permanganate. Don't mix it with Methylated spirits to ignite it. Due to fact it forms aldehydes then Carboxylic acids this would have happened only thing stopping the reaction was I didn't have any acid.

Then ended up doing it at university.

  • @mrlaserguy1 KNO3, potassium nitrate. although some of my fire-obsessed acquaintances would know that potassium nitrate isn't JUST used for removing stumps... ;)

  • What's that ping at the beginning?

  • The question is where can I get Potassium (k), so I might be able to do some research with it. I will keep looking for it online as well. (4)phunkyphantom619

  • Where can i get KMnO4

  • @KKLayton1 uk or us? i live in the uk i went to the chemist down the road.. an old style one

  • @phunkyphantom619 I am US. Texas to be exact

  • @KKLayton1 sorry for the late reply, have you tried your local pharmacist or is it drug store in america? place you get prescriptions from, like tablets the doctor told you to get, go to them and ask about it, if they ask why say water purification and survival fire lighting, ill keep looking around texas for you but those are your best options

  • @phunkyphantom619 you can also get glycerine in there. Glycerine reacts with permanganate better than ethylene glycol.

  • @KKLayton1 ebay 220906099899 free post to the us

  • get the weiners!

  • That noise at 20-23 is awesome.

  • I busted my chemistry teachers doing such funny experiments when they were alone in the classroom^^

  • Yea Ok, Dont Try This At Home......BUT....I Sell It In My Store!! So Stupid....

  • whats better is you put a small amount of fuel or gasolene in a jar and close the lid swirl around and coat the inside until fuel seems to be evaporated then add potassium permenganate crystals do up the lid qucikley when thrown this will create a loud bankg its prettty cool like home made fireworks but it will react with the air so make it in a sealed jar if you did this correctly and lived thumbs up

  • @jbeer82 we should just do this reaction on a large scale and save the ozone fly up to the stratosphere and release it fixing the holes there

  • @phunkyphantom619

Ozone is Extremely toxic at Sea level, only because it is Highly reactive and wants to break up back into oxygen, Even though the ozone layer is 1 mm thick where the hole is and the rest is up to 2.5 mm thick it does vary 1.5 mm don't think it would able to be done without knocking everyone off, and you would not be able to do it in large scale without blowing everyone up. KMnO4 is Dangerous if mixed with the wrong substance.

  • @jbeer82 I don't see any Manganese(VII) oxide in your equation... do you mean KMnO4 + H2SO4 -> HMnO4 + K2SO4 + O3 (permanganic acid is initially produced but then dehydrates to form Mn2O7 and water, correct me if i'm wrong) (can't be stuffed balancing it)?

  • @RadioTrefoil okay, I have decided to remove it, I realised that it was wrong, Initially I thought that Mn2O7 reacted with the H2SO4 to form K2SO4. by the textbook it just form the Mn2O7 compound. Sorry about that.

  • Only if it was 3D at 0:16

  • It is known to be strong Oxidizing agent, if not the strongest

  • @jbeer82 You can mix KMnO4 with Sulfuric acid to make Mn2O7, which is an extremely powerful oxidizer that is also quite reactive.

  • @lyrison "quite reactive"?! It oxidises with pretty much any organic chemical plus a lot of inorganic chemicals too! Lovely stuff, yet treacherous...!

  • @RadioTrefoil It's one of my favorites!

  • @david1513 I KNOW

  • WHERE DO I GET KMNO4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:36 you melted the glass :(

  • Styropyro, where can i get KMnO4? i really need to know.

  • @mcwario13 What country are you in? It can be harder to get permanganate in some countries than others.

  • @RadioTrefoil america

  • @RadioTrefoil usa

  • I thought it said Potassium Pomegranate lol

  • It's like potassium permanganate + glycerol times 10!

  • Don't try it at home, do it on your neighbors front lawn

  • if we can't try this at home THEN TELL ME WHERE THE FUCK YOU WERE HUH?? You were in Your FUCKING BACKYARD

  • 0:22 blah blah blah BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

  • i think i made a chemical weapon garilic powder/baking soda/bleach/vinigar/soap/drain cleaner/rubbing alchahol plz tell me wat it is it also exloded wen i took cap off it really hurt my ears also try bleach and anamonia

  • brake fluid and clorox make smoke, and lots of it

  • That looks like what happens when I jerk off. They do call me dragon's breath for a reason you know.

  • Redneck+fire=Forest fire.

  • So I just need chlorine and brake fluid? Or the Potassium straight?

  • @bowlofarthritus whoever mentioned chlorine? Clearly, all you need is potassium PERMANGANATE and ethylene gycol (brake fluid) for a spontaneous combustion. However, you can REPLACE the permanganate with pool chlorine (calcium hypochlorite) and you would get a nifty reaction.

  • mix potassium permanganate with magnesium or aluminum (+sulfur) to get great flash powder or put in air tight tubing for a bomb

  • @haze656

    KMnO4 does not equal Cl

  • @styropyro for what your doing can be done with chlorine instead of potassium permanganate is what i meant

  • @haze656 Your an idiot. Learn 7th grade chemistry or common sense.

  • @haze656 You made me laugh. Potassium(k) and Permanganate (MnO4-) Does NOT=Chlorine (Cl)...

  • LOL, very nice. xD

  • does that break fluid have glycerin in it?

  • @chemicalwarfare224 Most are polyethylene glycol or ethylene glycol.

  • I thought it would make a laser.......

  • GLYCERIN WORKS BETTER THAN BREAK FLUID I KNOW CAUSE I HAVE SOME RIGHT NOW!

  • DAT BOTTLE COST THREE THOUSAND DORRER!!!!!!!

  • nice rocket like effect

  • Glycerin works just as well (available at any drugstore)

  • KMNo4 is an oxidizing agent, meaning it provides the necessary heat and oxygen for a large exothermic reaction to take place. The Glycerol is a lot more potent in Brake line Antifreeze or Brake Fluid and reacts a lot more violently and unpredictably compared to shop bought glycerine which is a lot more refined.

KMNo4 can be bought off eBay and since it isnt exactly an explosive it can be shipped easily ^_^

  • doesnt potassium permanganate react violently with gasoline?

  • @rgmcall No not at all, only acid is added, I know this used it to Blow up rat hole with a pint of ULP. pour it down down the hole mind you 6 feet away from the house, make a leader light it and wait for the drawback then wait for the house to rattle.

  • @jbeer82 thanks:)

  • awesomeeeeee. 1ce again styropyro shows how cool this stuff is.

  • is potassium permanganate flammable by itself, too?

  • @lolimnoteighteen No it isn't by itself, it needs something else to react with to start on fire.

  • @styropyro

so its the oxidizer and brake fluid would light up with a match, right?

  • @lolimnoteighteen no, just an oxidiser

  • @lolimnoteighteen is potassium permanganate flammable by itself, too

u can use glycerin too (liquid sugar) see through transparent syrup

  • Thats awesome lol

  • hmm you should call this stuff you must mix

  • I watched up to 0:40, so I'm gonna try this at home :D!

  • @nikokapo oh no now im gonna get sued!!!!!1111

  • cool! I've used that as a chemical ignitor for a few experiments years ago!,

KMnO4 is best saved to mix with Mg powder tho ;)

  • where did you get the brake fluid idea? haha, good vid, 5 stars :D

  • @strekstreek i ran out of glycerin so i was thinking of chemicals that would react in the same way as glycerin with KMnO4 and brake fluid worked.

  • what is Potassium Permanganate?

  • lol its like a rocket just add a lid and make a nozzle XD

  • You have a store now? lol

  • @ChemXu Yeah I'm hoping to add more chemicals as long as I can find reliable suppliers for them.

  • @styropyro do you sell black powder by any chance?

  • @NeonOrangeRhino I don't sell any but I'm making a black powder tutorial for the very fastest BP. I just need a new ball mill. If you ever make your own remember that the key is the charcoal.

  • @styropyro ok well I appreciate it =)

  • @styropyro that's pretty cool, but is it legal for you to ship bulk quantities of KMnO4 and stuff?

  • @ChemXu Yeah I can ship those chemicals. What I can't do is sell kits or even hint at kits of chemicals to make flash powders, and for what I'm selling on my site is pretty safe legally.

  • @styropyro makes sense, cool that you have a website though

  • @styropyro Can you ship to countries inside the EU?

  • @austinpower14 I can't chemicals out of the US, but I can ship other stuff to the EU.

  • @styropyro :-(

  • Comment removed

  • @austinpower14

Getting chemicals is easy inside the EU.

I have had a home lab for years, and I know some good places for "classical" inorganic chemicals (for example, KMnO4 :P). If you are interested, just ask by pm ;)

For organic chemicals, it's much more difficult... (hope you understood my horrible english ^^)

  • @lithiumw Do you know any good places to get kno3?

I would really apreciate it if you helped me out :-D

  • @austinpower14 Haha, thinking about starting a pyrotechnics hobby are you? ;) It's addictive. Once you're in you can never stop!

  • 1st lol

  • @haze656

    Hurr that makes you special.
