Single mothers on welfare use resources while not being productive, on top of that their offspring are often also unproductive.

I feel this is the best way forward.

you don't come out and say it but the vast majority of the people you're talking about are black, and blacks are still being opressesed and thrown in jail for nonviolent drug crimes at an alarming rate, and even when they get out they get screwed by the system because now they can't get jobs and are thats when they get on the welfare system. Everyone is a product of their environment. You're basically saying, breed the rich, sterilize the poor.

Well I know that I'm not a racist, so you saying that i am means nothing to me, but still, I don't think you can really understand how depressing it would be to live on welfare unless you have before. Sure, a few take advantage of the system, but I believe that the vast majority of people (in America at least) want to work and make more money than welfare provides.

if what i am suggesting is implemented they will not be able to take advantage (much) - they can have 1 child and get welfare, after which they must be sterilised in order to continue to receive welfare.

It is their choice, they do not have to get sterilised, but they can only continue getting welfare if they get serilized.

One child is an accident - two is a career and three is a business!!

The highest percent of people on welfare based on current statistics in the US are whites. As much as people say it blacks aren't being harmed by the system but in very many cases over helped past everyone else just because they are black. The other problem in the US is how people stick up there nose at working at a place like McDonald's. People find it much easier collecting welfare from the government and work the system then get any sort of minimum wage job.

I don't have a problem with welfare, i have a problem with single mothers having 3 kids that have to be housed, hospitaled, fed and educated - which I (taxpayer) have to pay for.

as the saying goes: "Your right to swing your fist, ends where my nose begins"

A lot of these women have multiple kids, well aware that the taxpayer will pick up the bill. They are stealing bread out of my childrens mouths.

I'm happy to clearify. The operative word is "huge". Human mortality is apart of human existance. It's possible to decrease the population with out increasing human mortality. Primarily through lower birth rate which I propose can be accomplished by halting the increase of food production. Not food production itself, but the increase of production year after year.

that's the hope...that there will be enough food, but with the lack of huge surpluses of food the population would slowly decline back into balance...that would be ideal. I really hope that is how it goes down. :o)

There will be no economical recovery in 2009, it will get even harder year after year for a long time because of the roundabout 9 % downslope of Hubberts curve. But every developement has two sides. The time of exponential oil based growth and consumerism has surely deformed our civilization to some degree. Maybe we can mend this. I believe people can find happiness under all kind of circumstances. I am ready for the big change.

word up adam! the insistance on perpetual economic growth parallels with the historical insistance on the need for population growth. in any case though, total expansion, complete control, the logic of maintaing security betrays a deep insecurity about one's place in life and in 'nature'/ the world.
