  • Mick - A pure Genius!.. Listen to Micks version of Raglan Road on "The Ancient Voice Of Ireland" CD. I would

put it on par with Luke Kellys. Thanks for the CD I will treasure it

  • This is probably the best piping clip on the web. Savage. Cant wait to get a full set!

  • Absolutely brilliant, Thank you for posting this.It really reaches into my soul

  • Wonderful stuff! Thanks for posting this!

  • Genius

  • Wonderful.. and loads of goosebumps *g*

  • The uileann pipes do'nt need any assistance from any other instrument and are at their best on their own.

  • @cuilldubh

i agree.....i find that the fiddle is the best to pair them with. a box sometimes even works well i think

  • I love at around 1:11, when the door, wall, and woman make the flag. Her dress should really be gold, but its interestin all the same

  • @pooppooppee123 No, orange is right!! :P

  • Great pipe sound.

  • @arfer

mick o'brien is the shit haha

  • Great playing, very enjoyable.

  • Terrific.

  • This is my geogrophy teacher =P

  • makes me proud to be irish when we have musicans like this to proudly play and do such a great job of our music

  • @GARYF1985

Makes me proud to play the pipes and to have met such a fine musician and tradition bearer, and to be a tradition bearer too.

  • "wrong" notes sound so incredible and erie on uilleann pipes

  • super haunting sound

  • i love this air on the pipes. has such a sweet sound to it.

  • wich air is it?

  • Its the Green Fields of Canada

  • thanks man

  • Brilliant playing, Mick. Nice selection of tunes, freisin; go raibh maith agatsa!

  • I have a big soft spot for this instrument. Thanks for making this.

  • This was great even for the foreign ear. And nice video indeed!

  • I believe he plays the most beautiful cran! What a piper!! Great player

  • This is superb1

  • Really evocative "Greenfields of Canada" and an interesting second part to "Sporting Nell". Mr. O'Brien's use of the regs is truly masterful

  • This is a wonderful sound ,primeval, ethereal, haunting, played so well by yourself . Reminds me of my Father who played the Uilleann pipes not as well, but enough to instill in me a love for the pipes ,which he also had.

  • Do you play then?

  • excellent, i'm not a huge fan of traditional stuff but must say the pure skill is incredible!!! hats off to the lad, very very impressive :D

  • not a fan of trad?!

is there really such a thing!?

  • Yes, unfortunately. Loads of irish people hate their own traditional music, preferring pop or country or just about anything to diddley music. It's complicated.

  • Im the opposite.

Im not to keen on that new age piping.

  • Good on you, I'm not keen on it either. Love the real stuff, warts and all.

  • I love uilleann pipes... definitively...

  • Mick O Brien is my preferred piper. His Album Ancient Voice of Ireland filled wit airs is the most beautiful thing I ever heard. It´s always a privilege to see him playing.

  • Great !!!.

  • simply brilliant!

  • We went to a small "bagpipe concert" with eight or ten pipers in Baltimore, USA about ten years ago. All were impressive but then Mick sat down and played his "May Morning Dew"/ "Sporting Nell" set. I don`t think any of us there had ever heard anything remotely like it and I`m not sure I have since. What an astonishing talent! Thanks for posting this.

  • Great piping......thanks for posting

  • MO is awesome. Thanks for posting.

  • Amazing and beautiful. Notice the background how they put together a green door, a white wall and a lady dressed in orange.... wanderful.

  • Nice uilleann pipe tunes. Thanks for the post.

Slow airs are great on the pipes.Brilliant.

  • who made his uilleann pipes they are amazing

  • His Pipes were made by William Rowsome in 1921.

  • Wait, how is he playing this without air?............IT'S WITCHCRAFT!...WITCH!....WITCH! :~D I love bagpipe music. It all started with Rowdy Rody Piper :)

  • awesome video thanks for sharing with every one
