  • -]. LEGEND!!! .[-

  • Superb jazzy guitar work, really first rate.

  • Is there a frech polisher in Brize Norton?

  • It's actually from around 1987. I remember it really well as a child.

  • It's actually from around 1987

  • i remember this ad i always used to look forward to it coming on, that guys eyebrows were classic ! and look max branning with hair ! lol

  • Martin Taylor on guitar in the background I think.

  • Does this take place in Edgeware? I knew a whole bunch of kids that were from Edgeware who:

-lived in huge houses with giant mortgages

-had cockney accents despite living in luxury

-had parents who spoiled them rotten

-had parents who eventually lost everything due to overspending

  • I thought he was going to cover uo the mark with the yellow pages! ( would have been cheaper -- and saved some time )

  • SOMEONE SHOULD FRENCH POLISH HIS EYEBROWS !

  • eyebrows

  • @TreijaMusic correction eyebrow

  • I definetley remember this advert VERY FUNNY and it was 1995

  • Hello - French polishers? Can somebody can and polish my dick?

  • God this advert takes me back

  • This was the funniest ad ever!

    is that Max Branning?

  • Mr french polisher, could you give my eyebrows a quick trim after you have dealt with that nasty scatch on my Chippendale table, caused by a third party at my bridge evening this instant. Now there's a good chap, carry on old boy.

  • as if razzmatazz of the party would help out!

  • the one on te bed its Max from eastenders!!!!!!???

  • They're not teenagers

  • I prefered the mary whitehouse experiece version

"Terminal deformities clinic? its just possible you can save my life..."

  • Max Branning

  • Why didn't they just put a tea coaster over it or something??

    That geezers a fucking retard!!!

  • Best yellow pages advert ever, funny as fuck.

  • At least the party crashers stayed to clean up lol

  • He wasn't French! He was bloody English, as if the French were good at anything apart from making Perfume & Shampoo

  • @SweetT79 French Polishing is just a method and nothing to do with being French. Although the technique is probably of French origin. It was poplar in 18th century not so much now with more modern methods of filling in scratches in mahogany.

  • @Soopytwist Thanks for the info

  • @SweetT79 you forgot surrendering

  • haha love this ad i remember always looking forward to it coming on !

  • How did a teenage lad afford to pay a French Polisher I always wondered that?? Bet he paid him out of the paper round money he made lol. x x

  • French Polishers you don`t see them much anymore or an advert for Yellow Pages on the tv either. A very young Max Branning ( Jake Wood) bet he cringes when he watches this. How bushy are that lads eyebrows? wonder where he is now??. Classic nostalgia they don`t make them like this anymore as our mums would say lol. x x

  • @MaterialGirlMad1989 His name is Simon Schatzberger. He was in Eastenders a while back playing a Rabbi.

  • What a minute he didn't even pay!!

  • recognise max branning from eastenders

  • My ma just informed me of Max Branning being in this... I used to hate this advert with a passion haha. Seeing it now makes me feel all nostalgic. Still hate it though :p

  • thats max branning aka jake moon the guy who he wakes up from eastenders

  • i actually remember this advert when i was a kid... looking at it now, its amazing he managed to have friends to invite round, state of the eyebrows on him at 0:05!!

  • I never knew you could get french polishers in Brize Norton!

  • @LOCOMOTIONNUMBER1 Nowadays the nearest is in Abingdon!!

  • Classic. Enjoyed the nostalgia value of that ad!

  • Max Branning with Hair !!!!!

  • I'm glad you uploaded this advert. It was epic!

But let me tell you, that bit at the end has creeped me out ever since i was a baby. I'm 20 and i'm still freaked out by it. Only just got the courage to look at the end part haha.

  • yeah max from eastenders lol

  • 0.14 "who are you"??? it max branning off east enders!!!!!! any body agree

  • Hello sleeky!!!!!!!!

  • The guy's a dick. He should've had the party the night before the night before his parents "flew back" - and he doesn;t wake up with a morning glory, scratching his pubes and busting for a piss??? C'mon...

  • LMAO!!

  • He looks about 35!!

  • lol at the picture in the end

  • Is the guy with the curtain styleed hair not a really young Harry Enfield? looks like him anyway

  • The best Yellow Pages advert in the world. They should bring it back.

  • hang on a minute , isnt that the geezer out of eastenders!?!? the gingernut...the mate of that floppy haired twat

  • how big are his eyebrows

  • I thought I was the only one. How many of you were scared by this advert as a child? This used to frighten me, too - the bit at the end (the music, the shocked expression).

But, thanks to you Soopytwist, I've got over my fear of this advert. Thank you very much.

  • hows olds this ad, soopytwist?

  • Not sure, sometime in early 90's

  • The ad features on a VHS cassette I taped from ITV (an episode of Coronation Street) in 1989.

  • my god its a young max branning!

  • thought i recognised him too! lol

  • love this ad

  • Viz used this as a punchline in a Sid the Sexist skit.

  • i used to be "scared" of this as a child lmao

  • And while he's at it a beautician to tame those angry caterpillar eyebrows!

  • lol!! who are you? i'm max branning from eastenders

  • hahaha I just noticed that too!!

  • is it ??!

  • jake wood (max branning) was actually in eastenders around this time playing someone else!

  • Is this guy Dennis Healy's son??

  • rofl!

  • i remember this one!! that freak scared the shit outa me,that bit at the end was the worst!! im 21 now,an its stil creepy!

  • I'm 20, and I know what you mean. Always something a little disturbing about the camera pan to that portrait and that music accompanying it. His expression afterwards don't help much either, he looks terrified!

Ahhh, to be young again! :)

  • Hello yellow pages? it's just possible you could save me from these eyebrows!

  • I used to love these adverts.

Does anyone remember the old Smith and Jones sketch with the yellow pages?

  • Yes I remember that sketch, it was hilarious. I hope someone uploads it. I'm pretty sure Harry Enfield also did a very funny spoof of this ad.

  • I'm watching harry enfield now and tim nice but dim was in the library and asked for fly fishing by jr hartley! hahahahaha!

  • Yeah, at the end, the father smacks his son over the head with the YP phone directory!! PSML!! XD

  • Shit.

His eyebrows are bigger than his forhead.

    Is that even possible?

  • I've desperately been looking for the Adam and Joe mickey take of this. Does anyone know if its on youtube anywhere? Thanks.

  • who are you? i'm max branning from eastenders

  • LOL!

  • OMG i cant believe i've finally found this video. I've bin lookin through old tapes recorded off the tele and everythin to find it. Takes me way back to my childhood. Its funny thinkin about it now cos when i was little, the last bit of this advert used to scare me lol. I dont know why now after watchin it agen. The picture the Moustache an tha drawn on it used to freak me out. Im made up if finally found it.

  • i remember this 89/90, I once sported curtains on my head! give me a eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • How come girls always get up so early. I tell you he should've gotten someone to help with his eyebrows

  • Love this advert. in my top 10

  • the actor's name is Simon Schatzberger

  • lol

  • Some folk think he was Wurzel ot of Murphys Mob (I'm going way back here), but I'm sure the main guy was in an episode of Sharpe (from around 1997) as a shouty annoying soldier.

  • this ad is made in 1989

  • ill give u a clue, opal fruits

  • about how old is this ad?

  • Thank you for uploading!

This hasn't been on TV in ages! and i've searched around on the Internet then gave up, but i'm glad I searched again.

  • Absolute classic - thanks for uploading this - anyone know the main guy is in this ad?? wonder what he's doing these days!

  • Isn't the ginger guy the one who plays Max who's having an affair with Stacey in Eastenders?

This is one of the most memorable adverts of all time. I'm sure the main guy has been more memorable in something else I just can't think what...

  • Well spotted martinokeefe. It is Jake Wood (Max Branning).

  • Classic ad, superb!
