  • This is the only decent sport that was worth watching on tv. Now it's all about the city airheads and there hockey and football.

  • That in 2011 will not be allowed what with health and safety and if accidents in the woodchop competition did occur Channel 7 could actually be sued under Australian law if somebody got hurt

  • @darren2514fv its not shown on tv anymore hasn't for a long time, and by the way these days they would sign a waiver like they do in official comps.

  • I used to love watching the Lumberjack Games on ESPN.

  • this blew my fucking mind\

  • where can you buy these axes?

  • how is this a sport, its a chore!!!

  • @bowenboys73 easy, they say its a sport. did you know poledancing is an official sport too, as is shearing

  • hey guys, im just wondering how come these guys arent really built, i would expect these guys too have huge muscles, the chopping there doing looks like they are reall strong, im not dissing them, just wondering, and how do these guys get that strong?

  • @daisyhunter123 i bet if they took their shirts off right after, they'd look pretty ripped... (im not gay... like:)

but from what i understand... big muscles (under this sort of load) need lots of food (oxygen rich blood) and there is only so much work your heart and lungs can manage... so you dont want to be too big, but just big enough... if that makes sense..

  • @daisyhunter123 how? simple they are about twice as strong as they look, because they are used to exercise, they just need more protein to get bulkier but because axe chopping is a tremendous cardiovascular exercise , they dont look that big, but i bet you none of them are light

  • Sniff sniff, I can smell the roast cooking and the scones baking. Takes me back a wee bit it does.

  • wow where do you start?? the "axemen ready go..one two.. count in by the chop god himself Jack O'Toole...the music..the dunlop volleys..how good is this??

  • That old dude DID WORK!

  • awesome. can't believe this is on here too!

  • im goin to just buy them log splitters

  • damn, was hoping to see a foot hacked off. sigh....the search continues

  • wouldnt want to break up with their daughters

  • I don't like to swear but FUCKING HELL! that was some brutal cutting! he could split a wig with just a spoon!

  • je crois que c'est pa préfférer celle la

  • Andy, here's another one for ya.

  • my friends what about ur feet?

  • jesus a seconds loss of concentration and you get the pedicure from hell !!!! anyone know what axes they use ??? ty.

  • @ZeppelinRules no shit sherlock !

  • Someones sarcasometer is out of whack

  • Fascinating footage! Thanks for sharing! I knew a tree surgeon once who opened a BRANCH office. He would go out on a LIMB for all his patients. Sadly, he eventually had to give up his practice....turns out he couldn't stand the sight of SAP !!!

  • @JubalCalif Your BARKing up the wrong tree :-)

  • @admanhawks

Heavens to Murgatroid! That was QUITE droll, admanhawks! Good one! Gave me a much needed chuckle. THANKS so much....hope you're having a wonderful weekend, my friend! :)

  • no they wearing every day plain old shoes im an axe men and thats all i wear but i train in bare feet at home i only wear shoes in competition cos i have to these guys are on i cant wait till i can get a world record

  • I do this at a collegiate level. nothing near this good yet.

they are probably wearing either chain-mail socks, or there wearing steel plate lined shoes (you'll break bone but not loose a toe).

  • O M G if any one of them loses a foot or toe.....

DO NOT MIMIK THEM AT HOME PEOPLE.

I chop wood for a part-time job and I would NEVER do it like that.

  • I have a dead tree in front of my house and my husband is crying about paying someone to chop it down. I told my husband to chop it down and he looked at me like i was crazy. Then he told me i dont have the equipment. I told him men in the old days didnt need fancy equipment just a axe. Real men back in the day. God damn fancypant husband of mine.

  • show him this... he just needs his instincts sparked again.. hes been conditioned by a system I chopped a whole tree down today with a double bladed axe.. thats why im on here now. Make him do it, i guarantee hell like it. I feel like a beast now lol

  • 0:56 - 0:59 synchronized wood choping....can anyone remix this to some 2pac??.......

  • what if you hit your toe?!?!?

  • you'd be toeless

  • if you liten carefully, i think sandy gets laurence & martin o'toole's stats mixed up during the actual chop. one other thing: did they really just wear plain old flat-sole shoes? looks a bit dangerous with such sharp axes!

  • lol o-toole, get it? I am a genius......O.O

  • bring back this sunday ritual. I never missed an episode of world of sport. It was the victim of network television from Sydney.

  • omg what if they hit their foot?!

  • Where was Lou Richards with the balentines chocolates and four'n'twenty pies lol. Arrrr the good ol days. How did you get this footage?

  • This clip was taken from 'The Very Best Of World Of Sport' DVD. Check out my other videos for more classic WOS segments. Thanks for watching!
