Bomb warning aboard Jewel of the Seas near Ijmuiden

I've never been on a cruise ship before, but I have a question, how did they get rid of it or did they get rid of it?

I don't know how they got rid of it. But please note: the bomb was not ON the ship. It was lying on the sea ground.

Ok, perhaps I should rephrase that. How'd they dispose of it so you could continue your cruise safely?

I don't know. The captain said that specialists "neutralized" it. But I have no clue how exactly.

They found a bomb from World War II on the sea ground and had to close the ports in the vicinity till they had defused the bomb. After 2 or 3 hours they managed to defuse it and we could continue our journey.

Not too scary, because we were 1.5 km away. Just a bit annoying, because we didn't know if we have to turn around to Amsterdam... but fortunately, after some hours, we could continue our journey as planned.
