The video here makes it look like he just slashes it with the tip, but that's not what he does in the movie. If you listen closely you can hear the squising noises of him slicing the colonel's skin.
Does the swastica appearing in the video match the timing and pacing of the film? Probably not the most important thing, but the one I'm most intrigued about.
