  • Yes Smitho1949, Mary has a sweet enough voice but the power and range of Judith Durham with The Seekers makes this pale by comparison

  • @forsburgers yes Judiths vocal is beautiful I agree, BUT two very different renditions of the song don't you think?

  • Good afternoon pat,

  • @Kuramochi0214 Hello. I don't use my cellphone very much as I have difficulty seeing the small screen.

  • As much as I like Mary Hopkins voice my favorite group The Seekers dose a much better version then this.

  • This is lovely, as usual from Mary! Thank you for posting.

  • The Postcard CD includes Spanish and Italian versions of 'Those Were the Days' and says there were also French and German versions: do you have to have access to those? It would be nice to hear them!

  • I have sent you links for the 2 songs you mentioned!

  • Richpat

You have made Youtube much more worthwhile by the great collection of Mary's music, which otherwise could have remained totally unknown to the world. Many thanks.

  • thanks for your lovely comment,

She has such a wonderful voice that I like to share her music...

Mary has a new CD out in May? so even more new music to look forward too

    Bye

    Pat

  • This song is perfect for her. Lovely!

  • The song you can hear at the beginning was thar the introduction song to all six shows?

  • Yes that's right she sang this at the start of each show... she would then introduce the theme of that show e.g "today we are in the land of film"

  • And I alway's thought Mary was a law abiding person. First we have "ALL MY TRIALS" followed by "ALLENTOWN JAIL" !

  • Thankyou Pat.Which "Mary in the land of.."was this taken from ?

  • Sorry I should have put that on the "more information" part...

This song is taken from "The land of films"

  • Its a long time ago but I think that was the only episode Iwas able to see. Thanks for reply Pat.

  • Thank you very very much, Pat.
