  • It's funny how the applause footage at 7:08 in this video is exactly the same footage as the applause at 5:46 in the part 2 video.

    Great playing though :D

  • swallow one of the best bass

  • Comment removed

  • the name of the tune is "Green Tea". Its orginially from the a gogo record sco made with medeski, martin &wood

  • How is the name of this song?

  • That's about as straight as I've ever heard Bill Stewart play...

  • Scofeild has such a unique voice. It's stupid how good he is.

  • @chrisdgoldie well said.

  • Bill Stewart plays Billy Martin.. and nails it! Sick stuff!

  • @xhilikus I disagree, their contribution to this song are totally different.. But yes Stewart is a baws!

  • UUHH those musical theorists!! Guys please stop analyzing avery single note, just enjoy the music - That's Jazz!

  • I can guarantee Sco wasn't thinking of morphing from G# minor pentatonic to a G# lydian dominant scale - it's just sound. Yes, learning theory can help you towards freedom on the instrument, and you can benefit immensely from transcribing someone as brilliant as Sco - but eventually you must let go and just speak the language of music, with no licks and no theory in your head.

  • @TobyJackson- That is absolutely correct. Some of the greatest players in the world don't necessarily know a lot of the actual theory behind what they do. Jeff Beck for example.. he himself has said that he isn't much of a chordal player, but the guy creates melodies with the whammy bar and harmonics and makes you wonder what the hell is he doing?! Knowledge is only half of it.. the other half is technique, feel and controlling your ear, especially with pieces that have changes.

  • @AxisofJustice21 well put man

  • He inst playing any "out" notes... hes playing changes.

  • hes playing both changes and socalled "out" notes , like chromatic enclosure notes, tones from related scales and so on.

  • bill stewart = DIOS

  • How can you not love making all those "out" notes work...and tasty!

  • MUST TRANSCRIBE. how can i get this dvd anyway?

  • sco.. the world is not same witout. i luv his playing. my mommy is here.. do me favour!!! plz help

  • What are those two "quotes" John plays at 7:20 and after. I sort of recognize them, but not quite, help me now!

  • i dont know.. but where is this cat atre from our atire? i luv cookies en my mommy and john is greaty

  • Almost sounds like a Beatles tune. Not sure...

  • which droug makes this song sound like a beatles tune?

  • Damn, I agree with everyone! All the lines are sick! En Route is nuts! I don't know what to do with myself...

  • their album "en route" is f-ing rediculous. The way they play swallow's tune "name that tune" blooooooooooooows my mind.

  • is a good song for learning technics if you play the guitar. See the line 2:38, 2:42. It´s a good scale.

  • yeah . hes playing g# minor pentatonic lick which morphs into a g# lydian dominant scale with a nice chromatic idea on the high e .all of which takes place over a g# minor chord.wonderful phrasing

  • oh man his tone drives me insane. in a verrrrrrry good way!

  • @lala4493 easy sound to get yet expensive. $3000 for boutique 18 watt tube amp with Vintage knob configuration (no pre gain), Dual humbucker guitar with volumn pots for each pick-up, bridge volumn at "4" Neck at "10". Compression for chord parts no compression for solos. Should get you in the ballpark.

  • The line at 2:00 is even better..

  • The line at 1:20 is incredible...! Sco isn't from our universe..

  • Nice.
