  • This is by far the better version, mainly coz you just get a little more from it, for the Reverend Martin Luther King.

  • U2 changed in a bad way, in my opinion they were much better in the 80's...agree?

  • @Nickah37 not necessarily...after a flat Rattle and Hum, they came out with an amazing Achtung, Baby. U2 is a band that got it right....they're constantly changing, constantly pushing boundaries and constantly experimenting and not releasing The Joshua Tree 13 more times like a lot of bands who find a successful sound do. I haven't always liked the change and like the older stuff better, but I admire and respect their ability to do so.

  • @Nickah37 definetly do not agree with your statement

  • This is a Christian Song!!

  • For Reverand Martin Luther King, sing! ;)

  • Addition: R.I.P. Martin Luther King!

  • YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    U2 ROCKS!!

  • The best Pride version EVER!!!!!!

  • U2 was my introduction to rock n' roll. I was 13 years old. My parents didn't so much as own a record-player or stereo.

Rattle & Hum had just come out. I didn't know what a live album was; I didn't know what a studio album was.

After I discovered Rattle & Hum, I discovered The Joshua Tree, then The Unforgettable Fire, etc etc.

Anyway...U2, circa Joshua Tree / Rattle & Hum was, to me, the archetypal U2, and I guess it always will be my ideal of U2.

The Rattle & Hum shows are inspirational

  • his voice was so good back then...

  • Yeah it's dated, Bono is now a bit of a joke

but when those lights go up at the beginning.....

    ahhh goosebumps!!!

  • @SuperBadgoat Bono is not a joke. Type in "Where the Streets have No Name moncton" and you will see what I mean. His voice is getting better these days.

  • 1 person has NO pride

  • A dislike!? This is the greatest version of one of the greatest songs about one of the greatest men in history...

  • This track is for the "Free People of Libya" !!

  • drives me up a wall tax dodging so and so but damn good song and excellent in concert

  • IN THE NAME OF LOVE!!! PEACE!!!

  • Hey, does anyone know where this concert was held?

  • @TheBerdinator I believe it's Denver, McNichols Sports Arena.

  • @Zonum1 Sun Devil Stadium Arizona

  • @doogle212

Definitely not Sun Devil Stadium.. the stage format is different, and there is no seating behind the stage at Sun Devil. I concur that it looks like McNichols in Denver

  • @TheBerdinator McNichols Arena in Denver, Colorado

  • my irish people got deported back to galway back n the day

I am Irish, Mexican living in America!

    ~socalgirl~

  • 3.57 the look on adams face says"fuck were good"!!

  • Loved the audience in this song

  • @StephenColbert27 The audience simply feel the positive energy that surround this awesome tune!

  • This is the best version! The audience and band are so so tight! Absolutely amazing!

  • The look on Bono's face is bloody stunning, he's so amazed by the crowd all singing!

  • 15 now am 20 love it even more like my wife

  • unbeFUCKINGlievble

u2 the best band of all times

  • The End is EPIC :D

  • makes me proud to be part irish <3 r&h! amazing beautiful.

    so cal love

  • after 4:25 , the music sucks:S

  • the police once stopped u2 playing on the roof of a tall building in my city, they said bono was standing to close to the edge, ,,,,the edge , get it LMFBO

  • Larry Mullen is the same in 80's and 2010!!!!!

  • Not to take away from the beauty of this song, but I never realized before how Bono was working the hair around as part of the performance. LOL!

  • O.M.G. I'm watching this powerful message on Martin Luther King Day with a few tears in my eyes! Being from Arizona makes this extra special, mostly due to how we had to fight to get MLK a statewide holiday and we had a horrific shooting here in Tucson this past week. So the lyrics can be changed slightly to this for us:

    "Early morning, January 8th

Shot rings out in the Tucson sky

Free at last, they took your life

They could not take your pride"

  • @C0DEMON it says early morning april 4 you stupid fuck

  • @kaka22god Uh, yeah, it also says "Memphis sky". Evidently you're not only mean, but you can't read. They found it cathartic to adapt the lyrics to fit the January 8 Tucson shootings that were fresh in their mind. In addition, if you're not from AZ, you wouldn't get the special connection between U2, the MLK holiday issue, and our state (no reason you should). I saw them at Sun Devil Stadium in '87 for one of their Rattle & Hum shows. They sang Pride 2x b/c we had finally passed the holiday.

  • It is one of the most stirringly beautiful performances I've heard.

  • "One more... (from Sun Devil Stadium Dec '87)...

In the Name of LOVE..." for the Rev Martin Luther King, & for my Dad, BOTH born today... Happy Birthday!

  • I went to see U2 in 85 because I loved New Years Day. It's the goosebumps I received from the opening of this song that have kept me here.

  • @HyperU2 I saw them in '85 too. :) (and 2x in '87, plus in '94 or something).

  • Makes me proud to be human.

  • what a song makes me proud 2 b irish

  • In questa canzone aveva una gran bella voce...

  • is that concert when bono was afraid to get shot??

  • @ 3:57 love Adams look at the camera... its all sweet ive got this

  • Bono's voice reached its peak during the Rattle & Hum tour. He's never sounded better. Just amazing range and power.

  • I like tis version.!!

  • @TheVinigrau Si anche a me piace tantissimo questa versione di PRide

Goes to show how this epic band continues to stand the test of time. No gimmicks, no pretensions. Just great music & awesome performances.

  • U2 is thee sex!!!

    Love them :D

  • Pride and Love! Two of the most important words that we have in an amazing song! Incredible version! U2 for ever!

  • The world needs more music like this!

So powerful, Thank you Bono, and U2.

    911 was an inside job!

  • @Fentonlord Really man? My uncle died during 9/11. I really miss him and hearing that his death was pointless really doesn't help. If you have a ridiculous opinion such as that please keep it to yourself. Other people might take it very offensively.

  • @spartanwarrior340

Bro you clearly havn't done any research.... it's clearly an inside job. i'm sorry to hear about ur family member but he would want u to know the truth.

If you would like start researching 911 i'd gladly show you the best stuff to start.with

  • @Fentonlord I've already seen videos that are supposed to show me something. All I end up seeing is an a 767 crashing into the twin towers and them falling over. No explosives no nothing. It's insulting to many people and I don't like that.

  • 3:40 when the crowd sings with Bono...pure musical elegance.

  • great version

  • This is best version of this song!

  • U2 en su maxima expresión musical.

  • That is the best riff ever

  • The time of "rattle and hum" was the best time of U2.Such a beauty, such a passion !The best band, the best music forever. It makes me still shiver when i see and hear those irish guys!

  • the best version ever!!! nice 1 bumtrza

  • Those who die in the name of love will always win.

  • 1) Thank God for MLK Jr.

    2) Thank you U2 for this song.

    3) THIS is the kind of U2 concert I want to see! The 360 stage is a spectacle but I'd rather have the music than the staging. I love U2 for their music and their friendship. They don't need a spectacle for that. They're too good for that (Zoo TV aside, that one had a message)

  • Adam Clayton the best Bass player in the world.

  • Todos los que hablan mal de Bono y U2 es pura envidia, ¿quien es capaz de vender en el 2010 todas las entradas de un estadio de 90.000 espectadores en 5 minutos?

  • This video rocks - I've been wanting to see it again since middle school. Thanks so much for posting it! :)

  • i have loved this cd since i was 17, then i had it on cassette.

  • While I do think U2 is overrated just like their guitarist Edge the guitar parts in this song are good.

Remember people I am only a troll if you allow me to be! :P

  • @sirchocotaco It's funny you say he is overated. Think of the Guitarists who have copied him since the late 70's

  • @sirchocotaco Rule 1

  • everytime ..i hear this song in original ...means so fast as in rattel and hum ..i cry ...but I love it ....

  • we could use another martin luther king jr. now

  • the best band of all time

  • I could have gone to this. It was FREE! But my friends hated them and said NO! I hate them to this day. Idiots!! Like there was ever anything better to do in Arizona anyway??

  • @Macclenn Holy shit, seriously? I'd be so pissed if I were you.

  • I was 13 and my hearth stops a litle time bucause "Pride" now i´m 34 and still feel the same. Thank you U2!!!!

  • Pride to klasyka

  • Pride to klasyka

  • Pride to klasyka...

  • Martin Luther King... God Bless You

  • This is from McNichols Arena in Denver, a fair while before the Sun Devil show. Sorry.

  • This is from McNichols Arena in Denver a fair while before the Sun Devil show. Sorry.

  • Actually I think it was Saturday night it was raining so they filmed Black and white - people were leaving so I went up front and that's me around 3:38 waving binoculars. I remember those shows like it was yesterday, especially Sunday, they did Bullet the Blue Sky with the helicopter flying over the stadium, it was awesome.

  • was this at the Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe? Anybody know? I think that was me at the end waving the binoculars

  • I love when he's singing " in the name of love" part and you can hear the whole crowd singing along!

  • "...for the REVEREND Martin Luther KING... SIIING..."

Excellent Version. Thanks, thanks, thanks a lot!!!

  • I'm glad You like it:)

  • @yoyosa It's Dr. King. The word "reverend" means nothing.

  • @yoyosa And this is why I love U2. The greatest band in the world!
