She sang, performed in occasional comedy sketches, and had some "audience participation" segments...

The promo consisted of stills and a jingle (probably since they were promoting a live show and as such couldn't use footage from it). They probably could have chosen a better image to start the promo with.

This song was written in 1931 by Harry Ruby and Bert Kalmar, and became a hit again in the 50s when the movie Three Little Words, the screen bio of the two men, became a very successful movie in 1950 with Fred Astaire and Red Skelton portraying the pair. The two had numerous big hits, among them Who's Sorry Now? and Thinking of You. Harry Ruby also did a great many specialty numbers for best friend Groucho Marx, including Hooray for Captain Spaulding.
