  • What a classy lady. I'm 65 & remember her shows in the 50's. I don't know anyone who doesn't love her. And I'm SO ashamed to say.....I'd hit that

  • This is from Betty's daytime NBC variety show, which lasted through the second half of 1954 (higher ratings from CBS' "ARTHUR GODFREY TIME", and the fact she wasn't able to secure more sponsors, eventually forced her off the air). She sang, performed in occasional comedy sketches, and had some "audience participation" segments...

  • 2:30 ummmmmm?

  • @c0unt3rfeit After she sang the song, they showed a promo for some show(s) that was gonna air. The promo consisted of stills and a jingle (probably since they were promoting a live show and as such couldn't use footage from it). They probably could have chosen a better image to start the promo with.

  • It makes me sad that shes as old as she is may she stay healthy and live a long happy life !

  • Betty white was a looker ! =]

  • She was so cute ! I just want to pinch her cheeks !

  • Shes so beautiful, even now that shes old.

  • I've never seen her young.

  • Her face is similar but her voice got so deep

  • I didnt know she could sing! I like it :)

  • wow hard to believe she is 90 years old

  • Betty did a live daytime series on NBC in the fall of 1954, performing at least two musical numbers every day. This is one example....

  • @birdie1355 you do realize that your comment caused those 3 dislikes right?

  • I end my prayers with, "Thank You Betty White..."

  • she was so pretty! please lengthen her life dear lord :)

  • @phearcanadians YES. Was thinking the exact same thing.

  • omg she looks so normal o.o

  • I never knew that she has such a nice voice! Love Betty:X thanks for sharing.

  • she was gorgeous

  • The world will lose a chuck of itself when she dies D:

  • When I grow up I want to be Betty White.

  • @jessica23claire I think everybody feels the same.

  • This is going on my iPod....

  • Wow, I never knew she could sing like that. What I would like to know is who is the person that disliked this video?

  • oh my god this is amazing why arent people like this on tv anymore

  • she reminds me here of Jane Wyatt (the actress who played Spock's mother in Tar Trek TOS)

  • A trained voice, musical gifts and an all-around natural talent.

Why should we be surprised that she can sing?--and well......

  • I LOVE her!!!!!!!!

I hope I'll have her amazing energy when I'll be her age!

(and I hope I'll have, her age, one day... I mean, the woman is 89 years old and so full of life and talent!!!!!)

  • the person who put the dislike should f&%$ themselves

  • I heard she made her first movie in 1908.

  • @leafyutube Wikipedia's article on photography say, "Daguerre took the first ever photo of a person in 1838 when, while taking a daguerreotype of a Paris street, a pedestrian stopped for a shoe shine, long enough to be captured by the long exposure (several minutes). " The evidence suggests it was a French art student getting spruced up for a date with Betty. She was studying in France at the time. I'm not lying - I'm making this up! There's a difference.

  • @leafyutube Ya Betty White made her first movie in 1908 when she was born in 1922. heheheh!!!!!

  • They don't make them like her anymore

  • how old is she now?

  • @furrytommy Wow, lmao.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

  • Very pretty woman....gorgeous eyes.

  • Wow...she's always had those pretty, kind eyes....how fast and fleeting youth is...sad....

  • It's always a plesant thing when u find out what type of people the elderly were in their youth.

I espcially like it when they have black & white photos/T.V. or old radio talk shows of themselves. Adds to the contrast of todays colour photos as well as digital photos

  • Holy crap! She sounds GREAT! And still going strong!

    Thanks for posting.

  • Betty White is so legit.

  • What a beautiful voice

  • @makeupjunkie43 autotuned

  • DANG!!! shes good

  • For someone with that kind of Doris Day/ Anita Bryant/ Doona Reed air of purity and wholesomeness, it must've been pretty gutsy of her to make the swicth to comedy. Especially when you consider her debut as Sue Ann Nivens, where she intentionally plays a woman who's both a hussy and mean-spirited, while pretending to be, well, pure and wholesome. Nice work, Ms. White!

  • Wow! She had a pretty good voice back then! She's still awesome today! Long live Betty White! God bless her! :D <3

  • god bless this woman <3

  • Yes, beautiful here and beautiful now. I hope she lives forever because she is an amazing human being with a personality and talent to match. Thanks for all the laughs Bettty! : )

  • wow she is so wonderful. She has really been in the show biz for such a long time.

  • She's so beautiful here (and stayed beautiful throughout the years). Being a eclectic fan of Heavy Metal I really LOVED her spoof rendition of the Golden Girls theme on SNL, it's a bit odd but HILARIOUS to see her here, and then 60 years later doing heavy metal (yeah I know it wasn't really her in the ski mask).

  • beautiful eyes

  • this sounds like something from a music box (: it's so sweet and delightful

  • Awwww Betty!!! she's so cute and talented. she looks the same those cheekbones and dimples are just so adorable =))))

  • her eyes are exactly the same. they widen when she talks and then she starts to move them around

  • She is exquisite.

  • What's a' Saiyan?

  • loved her in the golden girls

  • OMG HER DIMPLES ARE KILLING ME!! I love her!!!!

  • I'm in love with you too Betty :D

  • OMG, Betty in her early 30's! She was such a beautiful young woman and she has aged so very well. Long live Betty White!

  • People's faces were so bright in black and white.

  • Great clip and fine voice by Betty. This song was written in 1931 by Harry Ruby and Bert Kalmar, and became a hit again in the 50s when the movie Three Little Words, the screen bio of the two men, became a very successful movie in 1950 with Fred Astaire and Red Skelton portraying the pair. The two had numerous big hits, among them Who's Sorry Now? and Thinking of You. Harry Ruby also did a great many specialty numbers for best friend Groucho Marx, including Hooray for Captain Spaulding.

  • So cute and sweet. Then and now.

  • She was 32 wow

  • omg she was such a pretty woman! those dimples! still so cute now =)

  • Nice delivery Betty. I you made me feel it!! Dimples are my weekness!!!!

  • wow, she is just beautiful...inside and out.

  • Great voice! She's of the right age so I'm surprised she didn't sing with some of the Big Bands during World War II.

  • What a beautiful voice!!!!!

  • Man when I saw her posing for PlayBoy back in the day. wow.....

  • @soundclik43030 what she did what get out here your kidding that i cant picture

  • Why didn't she have a singing career too?!? She was very good!!!

  • @AThibodeau27 According to the first two of her three books, as a young woman she did have a stage singing career--doing THE MERRY WIDOW and THE KING AND I, among others--before becoming one of TV's comic legends. I wonder why she hasn't sung like this in her TV roles--especially in Rose Nylund's happy memories of Charlie and her gullible but heartfelt romance with Niles (Harold Gould) on THE GOLDEN GIRLS.

  • BRAVA BETTY! Oh, for the days of LIVE television again. This is the way a song should be delivered -- without a microphone stuck in front of your face. Kate Smith used to deliver a song like this as well.

  • OMG, she is GOOD..

  • beautiful

  • @bladerunner556 lets hope she will remain the dominant entertainer up to that time and that she is still doing what she loves

  • she is such a talent is so many ways. She has always blended with the times

  • It'll be a said day when she's gone.

  • @bladerunner556 shell always be here dont worry

  • betty white. c:

  • Wow! Never thought she could sing that good.

  • Betty white is a legend.

  • So sweet and heartwarming, at least until you see the shot of Bob Hope doing his Mr. Bean face. That shot's hilariously jarring, to say the least.

  • gosh she hasen't changed much other then her hair color =]

  • Betty White is beautiful in her youth years or senior years

  • Watching Golden Girls Marathon, lol

  • awww she was soo pretty back then and still is :)

  • Proof that Betty has never been away, so the young folk shouldn't be so full of themselves about "rediscovering" her.

  • She has a beautiful voice! She is very amazing!!!

  • Wow it's amazing that this was from 1954 and she's still in Television today still doing her thing! Incredible!

  • She has not changed that much. She looks and sounds great. Thanks for sharing.

  • Pleasant surprise! She has a beautiful voice. I have not seen that side of her till now. Thanks.

  • Maaan I'd still hit it if I could watch this on my iphone while i did it

  • Betty was a Bad Bitch...

  • Damn betty r u into young guys?????

  • she was 32 in this clip! good lord!

  • She got prettier as the years went by.

  • I love betty white she's so funny

  • That guy at the very end kinda looks like mr.beans dad

  • what a voice!

  • @musicloveBH Exactly what I was thinking....

  • omg i'm gonna cry lol. she was so beautiful, dang she can sing too.

  • SO beautiful. Wow.

  • At 2:32 i spit my drink all over my computer screen!

  • @Degenerossi LMFAO ME TOO!

  • lol she still talks kinda the same!

  • so pretty!

  • She was fantastic. This is from a 1954 daytime show as far as I can tell. 56 years ago as I write this.

  • I love how she doesn't just sing it well, she's acting it out. You get the impression she's making the lyrics up as she goes, while she's looking at the man she's singing to.

  • awww

  • Bob Hope at the end looks like a spaz...

  • Wow she can sing beautifully, I wonder if she can still sing like that now if she tried...

  • WOW she can sing! She just belted it out. How lovely she is.

  • She has such cute eyes

  • Lmfao what the hell is at the end

  • what an amazing woman! who knew she could sing as well!

  • WOW!

  • can she get any more beautiful?

  • lol the last scene with the picture of the guy is so random & scary!

  • It was on around noon time. I remember coming home from school for lunch and watching her while I ate my sandwich! (We didn't have school cafeterias back then.)

  • Betty White....a precious American treasure !!

  • Such a beauty

  • Wow. I didn't know she was so awesome. Very VERY pretty! Like Lucille Ball pretty!

  • beautiful! unbelievable...

  • im a huge fan

  • she is and is still very beautiful woman! With a lot of energy and humor!

  • You rock Betty. This song should be in Bioshock or Fallout.

  • I would totally make-out with Betty White! Uh, in the 1950s.

  • She has a lot more color in her face now, here her face just looks so........black and whitish. I don't know why.

  • she look better when she older no ofence

  • she look better when she older

  • @malorieiscool wow, youre obviously a child.

  • @lunchboxxy Heeey, what does being a child have to do with anything? haha ;D

I'm 13 and i know who Betty is...I actually know everything about the woman! Iv'e seen every Golden Girl episode ATLEAST three times! She is my idol! There's no one out there cooler than her, with the exception of Bea, Rue, and Estelle of course.. :DDD

  • oh my gosh she's so beautiful!

her dimples are so cute too! :D

  • I'm searching my mind and I just can't remember her with her own show. Maybe it was on the same hour as Sinatra's, but guessing her show didn't last long either.

But she sure can sing. What a fantastic career this wonderful lovely lady had; she was great at everything.

  • @trumpsahead I'm pretty sure this was a daytime show, so it wouldn't have been on at the same timeslot at Sinatra.

  • @MattTheSaiyan it was a daytime show.

  • @trumpsahead career she had... she still has it!!! :D

  • @trumpsahead She ain't dead yet! Her career in comedy's going quite well

  • @trumpsahead Why are you referring to Betty White in a past tense?

  • shes already 32 here incredible! Love herrr
