"Light" readers of the period have yet to learn it took the co-operation of all 3 of the major allies to win the war against Germany in WWII: the Brits, who resisted Hitler as central Europe fell; American to provided *critical* aid to the Brits and Russia after she'd been invaded; and the combined forces of all 3 to finish the fighting (as America also fought another war in the Pacific).
