you dont need to Delete tracks and export them all one by one. if you click on Export Multiple then it will export all the tracks separately at once making it easier and quicker
Ah! I suspected as much, but figured I'd ask anyway. One of the forums I was reading compared isolated tracks from an mp3 to "unbaking a cake" - it can't be done. None the less, I really enjoyed this post - both as a bass player and a Who fan. Keep up the great work!
pretty cool - my question is this: how did you isolate each instrument? in the movie above, you already have the tracks separated out - how did you do that? I have an mp3 of a track, and I'm wondering how to isolate just the piano. (It's "Christmastime Is Here" from the Charlie Brown Christmas special) I'm beginning to think it isn't possible but if it is, do you mind responding to this post?
You cannot seperate any old mp3 track at all in the same way that you can a .ogg. Oggs are special because they are themselves more than 1 audio file IN 1. To get an Ogg file like the one in the video you have to mix individual tracks. Some guy(s) hacked the Rock Band Who tracks out of the game and produced them as you see them in the video.
Simply put, it doesn't work the way that you want to do it.
so you upload the song to guitar hero on your computer and it splits the instrument up into different tracks? Please explain how to get this kind of file
Whoops. Since seeing your comment I have added the link to my other video which has the download links to every single Who master track that was included in Rock Band (+ DLC) and Guitar Hero. Just follow that video's instructions and links and you can get your hands on these tracks.
This tutorial is godly. I've spent nearly 13 years having to learn my bass parts through the painstaking process of just listening "really carefully". Now I can pull the shits right out to the top. I came across your isolated bass for Eminence Front first-- If I'd known about that four years ago, you'd have saved me a month.
There's more than four. You can only SEE 4 in this screenshot. There's 12 tracks in the mogg (that I have) of Behind Blue Eyes. I'd say 12 is a pretty average number for the Rock Band/Guitar Hero moggs. I don't know what the problem could be. Try downloading different moggs if possible. It may just be a bad file.
Erf, maybe that's the problem. I'm using an MP# file, not an MOGG. I'm still new to this program. I don't think it should be easy to find songs in that format, is it?
Is this off a cd? When I import tracks there is only one channel to mess with, like the whole band..

I wanted to experiment with this myself. I keep seeing "does not work good with MP3"
Well I have Ben Folds = Bitches Ain't Shit as a WMA file and I have been thinking about splitting the tracks to hear it.
(partially having headphones out kinda splits the audio out in an "ugly but cool" way)
Will this work for me?

So, what you're saying is that I cannot isolate the vocals off of any wav file...

I might try doing a dts surround sound of a few of these songs with Adobe Audition.

how do you get ogg files with sepperate tracks for instruments?
cammyammy 1 year ago
@cammyammy
Ogg files are files that have seperate tracks within them.
I got The Who master tracks off a forum which is no longer online, but I have re-uploaded them to MegaUpload. See the description for the link.

hello, this is awesome and i would love to isolate songs. but, how do you get the mogg files? can you get them from guitar hero?
musicfan09jj 2 years ago
You can try looking around on the internet for them but I doubt you'd find anything satisfying.

How did you manage to create 4 tracks? Everytime I open a file, it only shows 2.
