Religion is a structure which withhold different values which are dependant on others understanding of the structure and what it means to themselves. This isnt very complicated, when you remove the base of that structure whatever values it will hold for whoever "disappears", there is no longer one higher value and a lower one defined as such after that previous structure.

IF there is a god or not is not the question, the question is how you best find out what there is.

I think Bill Maher should make more movies like this in order to expose the idiocy of superstition. Religion has been given a pass for much to damn long. It doesn't deserve respect. I believe the video poster took Bill's comment wrong when he said that other people do not have mental powers that he does not. Bill meant that they do not have special powers that give them answers about an afterlife in which case he is exactly right.

I am 0% religious. To me most humans are very subjectable to brainwashing. Where they were born and what they were taught growing up defines their beliefs.

As far as Im concerned let people be religious. But when it comes to muslums that think killing non muslums is good for them in thier after life then thats when I have problem with it

The word God has no meaning anymore. I can't even keep up with the numerous explanations of what God is or what it is not. Every religion should called their imaginary friends something else. Let's call such essences (if they do exist) "Gip", and another one "Tac." Nobody fucking knows what God is. I can't prove god's nonexistence.. But what I Can do, is to prove the evolution, and it's what scientists do everyday. Since all the religions (which NONE of them have EVER been proven) speak against the evolution (which HAS BEEN PROVEN). I can't find ONE single reason of still believing in god unless you are a very weakminded person and are to afraid to face facts for some reason. i get what you're saying, but I wouldn't call that religion. Religion inhernetly means binding together. So I guess what the 'problem' is, is that people bind together in retarted ass-backward ways.

I think more of a focus to clarify the texts in the way that you're doing it is really important. I even think that if it got mainstream recognition there would be a significant societal change. To give people a different alternative between staunch atheists and staunch theists.
