I happened to be checking the surf and it all just went crazy. From what I understand, a kid tagged a cop car, the cops overreacted and the kids freaked a little. By the time I showed up the cops were in riot gear and trying to move outward from the pits. I poked my head around the corner and got poked in the ribs with a baton.
Coincidentally, (?) soon after the city condemned the pits and moved quickly to 'beautify Venice'.
They could have at least given us the promised skatepark.
