Jesus healed on the Sabbath, and says that man was not created for the Sabbath, but the Sabbath for man. it was designed to be a resting time and to remind the Israelites of God and how He rested on the 7th day.

after reading the story for myself, thank you for finding that, however, i think your personal opinion of it seems to be negative and not capturing the whole pic. This was done to the man to show the Israelites, God's chosen people, that they are supposed to be dedicated to God. In 15:37-41 God explains this and even gives them a reminder of how to do so and keep them following Himself and not falling into the desires of the eyes/heart, much like the man who tried to get something done,
(cont.) instead of resting and focusing on God, the whole purpose of the Sabbath. Throughout the generations of Israelites, they were rebellious and they needed lessons several times to humble them. This led into the need for Jesus, predicted before all these rebellious generations as it was.
God was providing a way, through observing a Sabbath rest, for the people to keep their minds and hearts dedicated and holy to God. (Himself).

it would be sad to do something like that, but it looks from the reading that they were being throughout the story smart enough to know that God wanted their hearts, and were willing to try and keep the whole camp (population) in line with God's commandments. However, after reading, yes, i've read that before, but hadn't given much thought i guess, somehow read over that, but after responding to the aforementioned verses, i would definitely be faced with a dilemma. the physical killing of someone else for working on the sabbath would be hard. but in the case of killing someone else for doing such a thing, they'd have to be a fellow follower of God, and i'd have to cleanse the camp of the evil/rebellion
the reason why i take the question in the context of if i was an Israelite in the OT, is b/c i'm a Gentile, who is not under the law of the OT, but under the law of Christ, which did not rid the Law or the Prophets, but rather fulfilled them. Christs law is different and is based out of love. The Sabbath i think Jesus alludes to is now a matter of personal response, do it or don't do it, but the point is to focus yourself one day a week on God and what He has done for me. yes, i've read the Bible all the way through. I think we must keep in mind as modern day readers, that stoning someone to death, especially with our mindset as americans, i take it you are an american, is going to be much different than that of a person in Biblical times. Yes! it is quite the act, but i think maybe your missing the point of how times operated back then, and how death was perceived. Stoning the person meant keeping the unity and teaching the lesson to keep firm in following God.
i will try and muster the strength to watch the video if you wanna send it my way, but it is definitely different with Jesus. If anything, understand that following the Law in the Israelites eyes, or being a Christian and following Christ's law, which fulfilled the Law, is all about submitting to God and keeping firm, no matter what test comes or is required to keep devoted to God. A big problem i think comes along when people try and question God's authority.

But if and whenever you do come to the point where you know who He truly is, then i think you'll see the purpose of the Law in the Old Testament and it's story behind it and then the need for a Savior in Jesus.

If we did not question what we thought to be true, if we didn't follow our curiousity then we would not learn and grow. i'm blaming the fact that as the descendants of Adam and Eve, the first of all mankind, we have the inherited decision to go after sin. God put the tree there in my opinion, for whatever reason, we don't know, but mostly as a test. Not to say that He knew they were going to fail. Satan is a fallen angel who was roaming the earth, and we are told later on in the Bible, that he was the serpent of old who tempted Eve and sin entered the world when she gave into the temptation and sinned.

The tree wasn't a bad idea, and the idea of morals really didn't come until the fruit was eaten. However, the decision to follow God was always there, and the tree was part of the original plan

God took the responsibility of our sins upon His shoulders on the cross and made it possible for us to have true relationship with Him again. Sin is no longer an issue that separates us from God. We are ultimately forgiven as believers in Christ's blood.
We live by faith. Sin separated us from our Creator. Our Creator made the way back into His arms through Jesus and paid the price of our rejection of Him. That is the love i can accept, but never repay, but seek to follow Him in everything.
one must believe that Jesus, is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and that He is God to understand that He forgave us. i tried explaining to you how if you read and understand the sacrificial system of the OT and then read the Gospels of the NT and the book of Hebrews, that will help clarify how sin is atoned for.
as for the adam and eve scenario, maybe morals isn't the question. they didn't know good&evil before the fall, so what do you call it that they did before? obedience in my book.

My theory is quite opposite to the one you think is right. Think about it, the Universe didn't just appear out of nothing. The Universe was created by The Big Bang and The Big Bang must have had some seeds... If we look at the creation of everything by a theory that something natural was it's origin we could talk about an infinite number of origins. But that's just what you're trying to prove. Eternity doesn't exist. Well there must have been some eternal trigger that created the first origins.

Heb. 1:8-12 God calls Jesus God, and attributes the act of creation to Him. In Eph. 5.31 when a man and wife come together they become one. It's language that paints a picture, get the picture and ur not caught up on the language.and do u really think the supernatural causes wars??? Remove it and ull have the greatest genocide ever unleashed. It will be perfectly reasonable to depopulate the planet due to "carbon footprints" and to exterminate those of faith because of their" unreasonableness"

u saying I "hate" atheists because I believe with God removed that evil would prevail even more is like saying i hate the earth because i believe w/o God it would'nt stay suspended in space with the perfect axis and rotation necessary to maintain life. Just because you do not recognize that it is God who gives u the ability 2 reason, as well as any moral clarity u may have, does not mean He does'nt. Jesus healed on the Sabbath, and says that man was not created for the Sabbath, but the Sabbath for man. it was designed to be a resting time and to remind the Israelites of God and how He rested on the 7th day.

Where does god kill people for working on the sabbath? I'm not sure where god does the work himself but god does command moses to kill someone for doing so. Num 15:32 and the children of israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks on the sabbath day. in Num 15:35 the LORD (God) says to moses "That man shall surely be put to death all the congregation shall stone him with stones.
Well the people chose to obey god and kill someone for working on the sabbath

after reading the story for myself, thank you for finding that, however, i think your personal opinion of it seems to be negative and not capturing the whole pic. This was done to the man to show the Israelites, God's chosen people, that they are supposed to be dedicated to God. In 15:37-41 God explains this and even gives them a reminder of how to do so and keep them following Himself and not falling into the desires of the eyes/heart, much like the man who tried to get something done,

(cont.) instead of resting and focusing on God, the whole purpose of the Sabbath. Throughout the generations of Israelites, they were rebellious and they needed lessons several times to humble them. This led into the need for Jesus, predicted before all these rebellious generations as it was.
God was providing a way, through observing a Sabbath rest, for the people to keep their minds and hearts dedicated and holy to God. (Himself).

(cont.#2) i must congratulate the Israelites for following God's command and being bold enough to purge the evil from among them.
it would be sad to do something like that, but it looks from the reading that they were being throughout the story smart enough to know that God wanted their hearts, and were willing to try and keep the whole camp (population) in line with God's commandments. That is the lesson, they were God's chosen people, and had to choose to obey God!

your right, my mistake, that wasn't fair to you. However, after reading, yes, i've read that before, but hadn't given much thought i guess, somehow read over that, but after responding to the aforementioned verses, i would definitely be faced with a dilemma. the physical killing of someone else for working on the sabbath would be hard. but in the case of killing someone else for doing such a thing, they'd have to be a fellow follower of God, and i'd have to cleanse the camp of the evil/rebellion

the reason why i take the question in the context of if i was an Israelite in the OT, is b/c i'm a Gentile, who is not under the law of the OT, but under the law of Christ, which did not rid the Law or the Prophets, but rather fulfilled them. Christs law is different and is based out of love. The Sabbath i think Jesus alludes to is now a matter of personal response, do it or don't do it, but the point is to focus yourself one day a week on God and what He has done for me. Sabbath=focus on love

I just think that saying "well this was just something god commanded in the old testament but it is different now b/c of jesus" downplays the actual act and removes it from reality of it all. yes, i've read the Bible all the way through. I think we must keep in mind as modern day readers, that stoning someone to death, especially with our mindset as americans, i take it you are an american, is going to be much different than that of a person in Biblical times. Yes! it is quite the act, but i think maybe your missing the point of how times operated back then, and how death was perceived. Stoning the person meant keeping the unity and teaching the lesson to keep firm in following God.

i will try and muster the strength to watch the video if you wanna send it my way, but it is definitely different with Jesus. If anything, understand that following the Law in the Israelites eyes, or being a Christian and following Christ's law, which fulfilled the Law, is all about submitting to God and keeping firm, no matter what test comes or is required to keep devoted to God. A big problem i think comes along when people try and question God's authority.

But if and whenever you do come to the point where you know who He truly is, then i think you'll see the purpose of the Law in the Old Testament and it's story behind it and then the need for a Savior in Jesus.

If we did not question what we thought to be true, if we didn't follow our curiousity then we would not learn and grow. I question everything because that has been proven to be the best path toward knowledge. I'm sure you question something but your stop at God. That is your choice to do so.

i definitely have questioned God before, i've seen contradictions in His word, but they've been worked out. like you said, we learn and grow by questioning, and seeking knowledge.
i've been through the Bible a couple times, i've sat through sermons, and have learned how God tends to operate, and found answers to my questions.

If genesis was right we would all be horrible inbride. We would be able to tell from genetics that the population was extremely low at that time. The last time the population was anywhere near that low (about 10000)was 74000 years ago!

Their is nothing wrong about questioning G-d, the bible even says "Prove all things." It is our nature to question, which is why we are humans. We have evolved over other animals. A dog does not question, they eat their own waste! But we also though questioning and studying and by faith, a little thing unbelievers can not grasp, have the ability to choose what to believe. Freewill. I can not prove G-d, as I can not prove life on other planets, but I can believe. thanks for the video. I believe.

The most important commandment is to the love the LORD your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. the 2nd is like it, love your neighbor as yourself. I can see where you might get a contradiction there and that a big one. so following the most important one was being done in this case. Secondly, what is the least important commandment??? so i know what you're asking?

i believe all the wrong in this world, including my sins, are b/c of when adam and eve failed when they chose the fruit.
it therefore became natural for sin ie: theft, etc. hence the saving work of Jesus!

In evolution there is no one right way. People often think the rewards of "sins" are greater then the risks. But more often then not they're wrong.
That's not the problem god knew that they would fail, but he created them and the Tree. God is alknowing he knew what would happen if he put the tree there and he did it anyways. Besides that we didn't have morals before we eat the fruit according to the bible. So why was god so angry? So your blaiming your sins on some couple that never even exist!

i'm blaming the fact that as the descendants of Adam and Eve, the first of all mankind, we have the inherited decision to go after sin. God put the tree there in my opinion, for whatever reason, we don't know, but mostly as a test. Not to say that He knew they were going to fail. Satan is a fallen angel who was roaming the earth, and we are told later on in the Bible, that he was the serpent of old who tempted Eve and sin entered the world when she gave into the temptation and sinned.

(cont.) Sin is rejection/rebellion against God! That's what Adam and Eve did. They forsook God and life with Him in the garden for the goodness of the fruit, (sin) and therefore suffered the consequences. Jesus is the way back to God and made the atoning sacrifice necessary to get back into God's grace.
The tree wasn't a bad idea, and the idea of morals really didn't come until the fruit was eaten. However, the decision to follow God was always there, and the tree was part of the original plan

(cont#2) Meaning that God has designed mankind to have fellowship with Him. Mankind was the best of the Creation, and God desired, and still does, desire man to have relation with Him. The garden and the tree were part of the orginal design and the only thing i can say is that really, it just comes back to the free will of mankind to act in accordance/obedience to God's Words or reject and rebel. We've been rebelling ever since Adam and Eve. But thanks be to God for sending Jesus to save!

God took the responsibility of our sins upon His shoulders on the cross and made it possible for us to have true relationship with Him again. Sin is no longer an issue that separates us from God. We are ultimately forgiven as believers in Christ's blood.
We live by faith. Sin separated us from our Creator. Our Creator made the way back into His arms through Jesus and paid the price of our rejection of Him. That is the love i can accept, but never repay, but seek to follow Him in everything.

one must believe that Jesus, is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and that He is God to understand that He forgave us. i tried explaining to you how if you read and understand the sacrificial system of the OT and then read the Gospels of the NT and the book of Hebrews, that will help clarify how sin is atoned for.
as for the adam and eve scenario, maybe morals isn't the question. they didn't know good&evil before the fall, so what do you call it that they did before? obedience in my book.

in the most basic sense, Adam and Eve were merely two of mankind without sin and walking in the garden enjoying life with God, complete fellowship with Him.
How does God not have morals? do you not honestly see any faults in human beings?

I see faults in humanity. That's not the point. The point is god isn't suppose to have ego problems.
He sent satan down here instead of destroying him, even though he knew what would happen if he did. He gave us a moral test before we had morals (That's kind of like giving a sponge a IQ test.) and then he got angry when we failed, even though he knew we would.

Jesus rose from the dead, i think you missed that one. The fact of the matter is, that whoever believes that He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, that He died on the cross for the world's sins, you and I, and rose from the dead and gave the way for eternal life with Him in the Heaven, what is immoral about that?
