The one time she smiled.... she knew she was out of tune because of the emotion that is welling up within her. Both versions are good. Honestly speaking, this is better than the original, especially in terms of singing technicality (mas litaw ang quality at vibrato ni sarah).

Pero siyempre, when you talk about original, di mo maiiwasang namnamin yung "emotion and nostalgia," which people don't find in cover version, hence the phrase "wala pa ring tatalo sa original."

Pero in terms of singing tlaga, I believe sarah outdid the original. Good job! Cory would be so proud!

I think that's one of sarah's talents, she can imitate the original versions of the songs. Remember her first song, Love you More by celine dion? It's hard to tell who's singing who's version. Sarah did a great job here. but of course the original version will forever be unbeatable because of the powerful emotions from Virna Lisa

Only Sarah brought this song alive to us.I I and many other were not yet born during EDSA 1 but my mother said Virna Lisa's song was not as popular as Ang Bayan ko. Also is not as good and as hign as Sarah's. Magkaisa lang ni Sarah ang kilala namin. Sori hindi namin kilala si Virna Lisa. Sori lang po.

I don't know Virna Lisa too, I just heard her version recently from youtube. Like you, I also first heard Magkaisa from sarah g., I was only 2 months old during edsa 1 and was not here in Ph. Sarah did a wonderful job, don't get me wrong. I love sarah, Just not as good as Virna's for me :)
