I think that you might want to go easy on the distortion a bit. The melody is very nice, but the low end feedback kills the vibe. You might want to take a page from jon roth's book and take the neo classical music clean(ish)
ITS LIKE A WALL OF SOUND. Makes me giggle. All and good but where's the feeling? I don't even get that adren. rush I usually get from metal. Maybe a better mike would help.
you have very good technique, but i'm just not hearing any heart and soul in your playing. jimi hendrix had almost no technique, but he made it so far because he put all his joy and pain into his guitar. by the way man, whats up with the stuff at the end? -_- lastly, just go look for some inspiration and write something other than a bunch of arpeggios in a progression. add some scales, change it up a bit, don't go so heavy on the sweeps, and you got yourself a solo
Can't deny that it takes a lot of skill to play like this, but honestly it just got really annoying after a few seconds. I think slower would have been better. But that's just me.
I think you should play the same exact thing again, only slow it down. Just a thought.
good work but I would have liked it better with a setting with less spring reverb and at a slower tempo. It would have sounded more impressive without all the string rakes and your hand hitting the bridge being amplified by a thousand
Yeah, I hear this played back after my friend already posted it. The empty room also makes it echo even more. I probably should have played it completle dry i with the echo of the room.
Great playing man, but next time you should try to line you processor or amp right into the computer so you can get full digital sound, instead of just using a mic to your computer,
i love youtube for this reason you get to see people that you would never otherwize play, it gives me hope, because i cant stand these "Rock band" looser kids thes days :)
I catually had the jack of a chord break off in this amp, and it's got some kind of digital mimput. I have two Marshall stacks, and my experiance with line 6., I think they have too many components and wouldn't recomend anyoneone getting anything from them except maybe their $99 15Watt practice amp. If you want an extra cheacp knock-around to toat around for auditions or to make vids I'd go with a Fender sidekick.
actually some are actually not that bad, if you know what you are getting. my dad actually has had 3 line 6's and he says that they are really great. he didn't give me the details.
as far as the amps go, yea you're basically right. they are good, but you never see anyone who's really famous use an amp, or guitar for that manner.
Ive got the line 6 amp 15 watt spider 3. Um man it is HARD to get a good tone out of that thing. Im not running it through anything just raw dog. I though it was my fingers at first and then I played on a roland and, what do you know, it wasent my fingers. Wouldnt recommend line 6 sppider3 for anyone except a begginer.
Not all amps are good in all settings. The problems when you go to a big store to buy and compare amps. If you're buying a small solid state amp you should also listen to it in the sound room that has the large amps in it. If you're going to spend big dollars on a large tube amp you should hear what it listen to what it sound like on the sales floor also. You may even want to bring your own guitar, if your pickey about the pick-ups in all your guitars.
Iv'e got the line six spider 3 15 watt and i love it. I run it through a boss distortion pedal and get sweet tone. I don't know what oyu guys are talking about.
Im talking I wish it had better sound out of box, I cant even get a decent tone from that thing. Just sad you have to run it through something just to get a good tone
but i can also get good tone from just the amp. use the metal setting, high treble, everything else around mid. works great for my purposes. I mostly use the pedal for soloing.
remember when u were noob u couldnt even distinguish the guitar and the vocal.
same for them, everytime the guy hit 8 note they think it sound like 1. I can hear them all and this shit sound beautiful. Noobs can resume their slipknot videos.
whats with the negative responce!? If you listen closely you can hear the magic of things he plays. No feeling you say? thats because you can't hear what he plays. It is supadupah fast yes indeed! That's what makes it supergood. I find this man's playing very inspirational. He's awesomely good XD
thats crazy fast but thats all it is, no feeling or emotion is put into that, yeah its super fast but it needs to have more than just speed to be a good solo, solos that are that fast just always sound the same, you can never tell the difference in the way they sound because they are all the same tempo, especially when arpeggios are that fast, they all sound alike
dude, asking for tab is gay. does anybody ever say, "Here you go - here's the tab for the improv solo I just ripped!"? I already know the answer -- NO. So quit asking. If you can't figure things out by ear, you're never going to be worth a shit as a guitarist. So listen to it 50,000 times to figure it out if you have to, but stop asking for tab.
sporadicreaper, you stupid, shred solo, hence the FAST SHREDDING. of course it ownt be slow. and to the retard to thinks this is sped up, go fuck yourself
its speed up. u know why?? cuz in order to have that much reverb and delay in spider amps you need at least 3 or 4 seconds between blinking. but this is sped up.
I think the guy achieves what he wanted to demonstrate - to me it sounded great!
NICE ONE!
A tip for the moaners - if you like your music slow try searching for the following tags "slow music" try to avoid searching for anything with "fast" or "shred" in the tags.
I read in some place something like "anyone can shred". Really, im getting close. But to play a dominant scale is not impressive or valuable anymore, and yes, this video was added in march 25, 2006, but WTF, i've seen a hunred videos like this one, good potential, NO CREATIVITY
where's the melody? I mean it's cool you can play that fast but it isn't really music, it's just showing off. it's cool, but I wouldn't listen to it if it was on a CD.
uh there is def melody lol..that is such a typical repsonse to a shred solo. You can hear the chords and stuff lol maybe not near the end but, in the first 30 seconds, sure
you'd be pro if you could play that fast. the light for the delay on the line 6 doesn't flash that fast so you must of sped the video up. it still sounds cool though
shreddings great for what it is, but i tend to leave it to the cerial manufacturers, don't get me wrong, I think your an amazing guitarist, and I wish I could sweep/tap/shread like that, but I just think that sort of playing is showboating - looks good, technically brilliant, musically a bit naff. sorry :(
It's great that you can play fast, and I admire that, because that takes a lot of skill, but it's not about how fast you can play. And it gets really old, really fast. It's about music, and if you can make music, and the musicality of what you play.
The speakers' light is flashing...its a signal saying 'of God, why, i can't go that fast, please...please...save me...he's to good...omg" lol. Insane
its actually just noice. but you are really good and you play clean, but why must everybody try to be the fastest. its always like mario on accid.i think mab has started a trend
Because Every guy likes speed in every way. Driving a car, bike, in a guitar and everything else :D And what would be cooler to oneself than SHREDDING LIKE HELL!!
lots of the same symetrical patterns movin aorund. its good but its not rele as hard as it seems. pretty god but the "timbre" in the room and the extra echo do tend to irritate.
it sounds good and everthing but i think you pause to much between each section i meen its so fast then there a little pause but its a pretty cool song
Yeah, my friend recoring this in his house didn't give me much time to check the playback sound and insisted doing the vid in that empty room that ended up getting that irratating extra echo and that strange tamber.
I don't really know what you were doing at the end, but man, I am really impressed overall. You play really smoothly and manage to fit difficult sweeps into tight spots, among other things. Overall you seem to have an excellent sense of the fretboard. Keep it up man, I'd love to hear some of your recorded stuff.
Thanks, I believe it's a Schecter Gryphon. I don't usually prefer most Schecters, but this one is a strat scale and has a bare neck. It also has the 24 frets and maple top like most of their models.
I knew it was Schecter, I'd recognize that body anywhere. I will be receiving a Jackson MG Series DXMG Dinky Electric - 24 frets, not only does it look and sound badass, it's only 450 dollars :D
Fast, none the less...sounds like shit, none the less...mindless shredding is ok if your just getting some aggression out or something but, if thats the extent of your playing abilities [not speed abilities], "playing abilities", then you needs to re-evaluate...
If that isn't sped up - then you are one of the fastest players I've seen. I guess I shouldn't criticize people for speeding things up because I know the feeling of being accused of that.
Thanks, but right off the top of my head check out Chris Impellitteri, Shawne Lane, and that guy from Symphony X (I believe his name is Mike Romero). ALL those guys are faster than me. And althought he plays a totaly different style of guitar I actually heard some records of Frak Gambale playing probably faster than anyone. When I play in a context of a song I try to play with much more feel and style than in the soloexamples.
Go back and read the owner manule. There's something wrong with your amp if you can't tap the delay speed in that fast. Then do a music search on METALdaly, then if you still think I'm a fake comment back.
actually, it does look sped up. look at his leg while he's playing. it's jiggling around at synthetic speeds. also, the light on his amp is beeping super fast.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
eww another shredder, i think i'm gonna puke, there are too many shredders, why can't there be a guitarist that does something other than shredding these days?
While that was very very good. I think you should do more than just sweeps, Fly picking, and tapping. Try some stuff that isn't all 32nd notes either. Other than that it's great. Good job, good guitar, good amp.
The first few arpegieos are similar to the intro to Hotel California, (in a different key). I didn't plan it that way, it just kind of came out that way.
I don't really care if the sound quality isn't as pleasing. But you cant deny that the composition of this piece if excellent. I wonder who composed it and whats the name of it.

change the tone up on that amp, it's painful to listen to, the playing is good, but change up the settings a bit.

Yeah, my friend recoring this in his house didn't give me much time to check the playback sound and insisted doing the vid in that empty room that ended up getting that irratating extra echo and that strange tamber.
licksandtricksdotcom 3 years ago
that sounded like a train wreck

I don't really know what you were doing at the end, but man, I am really impressed overall. You play really smoothly and manage to fit difficult sweeps into tight spots, among other things. Overall you seem to have an excellent sense of the fretboard. Keep it up man, I'd love to hear some of your recorded stuff.

Thanks, I believe it's a Schecter Gryphon. I don't usually prefer most Schecters, but this one is a strat scale and has a bare neck. It also has the 24 frets and maple top like most of their models.
licksandtricksdotcom 3 years ago
I knew it was Schecter, I'd recognize that body anywhere. I will be receiving a Jackson MG Series DXMG Dinky Electric - 24 frets, not only does it look and sound badass, it's only 450 dollars :D

Fast, none the less...sounds like shit, none the less...mindless shredding is ok if your just getting some aggression out or something but, if thats the extent of your playing abilities [not speed abilities], "playing abilities", then you needs to re-evaluate...
deviltriggerinc 3 years ago
yup...he's fast... but yes boring... its like theorecly wrong i dont know... i just dont think its wright

your playing drives me up a wall. usually i like fast shit but not here
ledzeppelin8852 3 years ago
If that isn't sped up - then you are one of the fastest players I've seen. I guess I shouldn't criticize people for speeding things up because I know the feeling of being accused of that.
ctuliebs 3 years ago
Thanks, but right off the top of my head check out Chris Impellitteri, Shawne Lane, and that guy from Symphony X (I believe his name is Mike Romero). ALL those guys are faster than me. And althought he plays a totaly different style of guitar I actually heard some records of Frak Gambale playing probably faster than anyone. When I play in a context of a song I try to play with much more feel and style than in the soloexamples.

The light on the amp will tap as fast as you tap it... It's a tap delay... It's how they work:)
Teedeejayen 3 years ago
this is waaaay sped up. the blinking on the amp isn't that fast (i have the same model).
ctuliebs 3 years ago
Go back and read the owner manule. There's something wrong with your amp if you can't tap the delay speed in that fast. Then do a music search on METALdaly, then if you still think I'm a fake comment back.
licksandtricksdotcom 3 years ago
your are all just jealous
this guy is mad
warnerburger 3 years ago
actually, it does look sped up. look at his leg while he's playing. it's jiggling around at synthetic speeds. also, the light on his amp is beeping super fast.

all i can say was that was fuckin beastly WTG 6 stars for that crazy shit

eww another shredder, i think i'm gonna puke, there are too many shredders, why can't there be a guitarist that does something other than shredding these days?
GunsNRoseslover12345 3 years ago
Then why did you bother coming to a neoclassical guitar video?
And to answer your question, it's hard to hear with this guys video but it's very melodic, at least neoclassical shredding is.
darkmaster603 3 years ago
he obviously came to see this video because he wanted to see a neo-classical solo-- not shred.

While that was very very good. I think you should do more than just sweeps, Fly picking, and tapping. Try some stuff that isn't all 32nd notes either. Other than that it's great. Good job, good guitar, good amp.

man,can u send ma a tab 4 this?

The first few arpegieos are similar to the intro to Hotel California, (in a different key). I didn't plan it that way, it just kind of came out that way.
Thanks for the comment.

I don't really care if the sound quality isn't as pleasing. But you cant deny that the composition of this piece if excellent. I wonder who composed it and whats the name of it.
