So beautiful and yearning and real. This is music for people who still have heart and are human despite all efforts to destroy the human spirit. Also great respect for those that have been in this field. This is Americana, but it is so very from the soul that it transcends to all.....
a linemans life is a rough one the pays good but if you like working till so tired you just fall down wind ice snow cold heat long hours work with 3 hours sleep for two to 3 days then people bitching cause there lights are off once i did56 hours stright then 3 hours off then anougher 51 and i stoped to drink a pop and people bitched i sometimes wanna slap them when they act that way, life of a lineman go figure
@jayberry2 yes we do, and its good that you acknowledged your friend. So many things people do for a living that we have no idea what they have to go through...
A true classic. In the 60’s to mid 70’s, you could tune in 1 radio station, and hear a much wider variety of music. From the Beatles & Carly Simon, to Motown greats like B.B. King & The Supremes, played in random. Singers and bands that could hold a note & had harmony in their lyrics. Few of today’s “artists” can match the magic that was created back then.
I’m glad I grew up in those times, and not in today’s dwindling talent, flash-in-the-pan performers that pass for Musicians.
All the men in my family are electric lineman..they die early to give you electric service. The world should bend down to kiss their butts! They get the big "C" and I'm convinced it's from the line of power and the creasote. They get paid real well ..and they should. Atlantic City Electric and all power plants should make these men wear X-ray type chest protectors. Thanks for posting and listening...I LOVE LINEMEN!
Great song I always have like Glenn Camble. I also love classic needle nose KW's. But honestly someone was hitting the pipe to come up with this crazy video.

I have a friend I grew up with who lost both arms as a lineman. We take stuff for granted.

@good4GLINDA maybe they get it from swirling transformer fluids with their hands (PCB's) and having their bodies in large EMF fields.
Lets here it for linesmen around the world that keep us in power in the nastiest weather one can imaging.

@good4GLINDA My hats off to all the linemen who keep our lights on. It’s a very demanding job in all weather conditions.
I worked construction for nearly 3 decades, but don’t think I could handle their job.
This is a great tribute song to them!
