I am a Big Fan of Slipknot too, but he is not the best drummer. Many of the older drummers could smoke him. And he has that double bass going all the time, most older drummers had one bass and could still kill him in a drumoff

joey's awesome, but i think speed and double bass are his strengths. thats all well and good, but other drummers (chad from red hot chili peppers, and esp danny from tool) dont need to play as fast but use variations in rhythm and other more subtle tricks to make their drumming unique. joeys very fast, but if i had to choose a modern drummer it would be danny from tool. his beats and fills are so unique and rockin, and theyre difficult in so many ways, not just because of the speed.

the way i see it is that its all about preference some ppl like the really fast stuff nd others like the more technical side of it. its very hard to compare different drummers from different genres as some things joey finds easy might seem impossible to a different drummer and vice versa
