  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW!!!!!!!

  • The biggest ships ever constructed were four supertankers built in France at the end of the seventies, having a 555.000 DWT and a 414 meters length. They launched from the shipyard Chantiers de l'Atlantique at Saint Nazaire. The only larger ship was the jumboized "Knock Nevis"; ex "Jahre Viking", ex "Seawise Giant", ex "Porthos", in 1981. However, the Batillus class had the greater gross tonnage per ship, and it could be argued that they were, in fact, larger than the Knock Nevis.

  • The final vessel was the greek ''HELLAS FOS'' and was demolished in 2003.

  • This is Batillus, built in France in 1976. She was one of fours ships, which were the biggest ship ever built - only surpassed by "Seawise Giant" (now "Knock Nevis"). The ships were complete commercial failures (too big and not able to attend enough ports etc.), and Batillus and two of her sisters were demolished in the mid 1980s. The final vessel was demolished in 2003.
