  • i loove leopard geckos!!! soooo cute!!! LOL!

  • dude all you have to do is get flukers calcium it has vitamin d3 in it

  • they need to learn for there self i always want it when i was 9

  • could you just get a fish aquarium light

  • @pumpkin28ful leos benefit MUCH MORE from a heating pad, all a uv or a uvb light is just cook the leopard geckos, it actually can damage them severly!

  • Lol just feed them some calcium.. much easier

  • leopard geckos are nocturnal and do NOT need uvb lighting

infared heat bulbs are the best because leopard geckos can't see red and it won't bother them

  • @imoralius how do u know

  • Lol they don't need that special light, you can keep them in the dark all the time if you want.

  • can i have a lamp near its cage

  • they are awake at night they dont need uv

  • i might getting one and was wondering that if i give the vitamin d3 supplements if i still need the uvb light

  • i thought u dont need uvb because they are nocturnal :/

  • @20hayden11 they dont need it but it gives the baby a bit more calcium but not needed good though :)

  • @20hayden11 u dont

  • @20hayden11 they can use it because they still can suffer from lost of calicum but can use a calicum dish and they will lick it so look it for more info

  • Leo are noctornal they dot need UVB LIGHT!

  • @hamsterbot2000 No you can its optioan it gives them calcium but they dont really need a UVB light but it the owners choice! Plus im only 11 and i know more than you

  • @hamsterbot2000 And this guys and expert so shut up and listen

  • @Kid4ever909 these people don't know anything every video the make they are always wrong

  • Didnt they say never to use a compact bulb?

  • @BocajBinLadin the long strips have mercury to, they are practically the same as the stips aside from the fact they concentrate on one area.

  • Jesus Christ guys, just because leopard geckos are nocturnal doesn't mean they aren't naturally exposed to UVB light. They will sleep in open crevices and will absorb UVB via reflection, and are still active in some parts of the day. Even if you're keeping one and it doesn't use it very often, isn't it much better to provide it rather than risking your gecko getting hypocalcemia and therefore MBD? Just provide it.

  • can i jus use a regular heating ligt or a under tank heater

  • How many degrees should the terrerium be? this is my first time being a leopard gecko owner. :)

  • @GlitterGurl2011 umm during the day your leopard gecko tank should be around 86- 94 and at night 84-90 ;)

  • Leos don't need uvb light, they are nocturnal.

  • Wtf leopard geckos come out at night so they dont need a UVB light

  • cant u just put a bowl for the vitamins in it?

  • i dont use liting i just use heat mat and my lepored geckos are fine

  • My bulbs came in a pack(night/day) my night one is crimsion. and day one is just white there regular my Petsmart people told me that thjose would be fine for her. Please someone tell me ALL i need to know

  • you dont need it

  • @Thefallengamer636 i know

  • What is the name of your store?! Pleas respond!

  • Were is you store??

  • leopard gecks dont need uvb lol.

  • i have a question can i use a regular blacklight for the gecko at night on top of tank or even maybe in whole room blacklight? will it hurt them? please answer. thanks.

  • In the wild. Geckos stay away from the sun ligth but still get some of the ligth i use one in my setup just in case they need it and give the terrarium god ligth now the night ligth or the red iight thats a no no its damage the spectrum (nocturnal vision of the geckos) there are moon ligth little led light that you control the intenses of the ligth

  • lol did he mean lepord gecko starts to sufer or the lighy?

  • how much do they cost whith everything

  • @alliechskabruja I just bought mine today with all the accessories and crickets so I'd say about around $200. Depending if you bought a starter kit like I did (came with light, gauges, etc.). My gecko cost $73 from petsmart.

  • @XxLovely99xX Dang 73$?! mines only cost 20$ from Petsmart with the petperks card.

  • @illuminayted lucky you! lol i have petperks too. blah but they're so expensive here, i called all over the city to see which ones were cheaper and petsmart was the lowest price for leopard geckos D: but i still love my lil guy/gal so i'm happy :)

  • let me get this straight...why would a nocturnal animal need uv lighting...they sleep and hide during the day...so they wouldnt get uv light anyway..so no offence but i dont think you know what your talking about...

  • hey guys i have a few questons first one- DO THEY NEED HEAT LAMPS OR ARE THEY GOOD WITH "JUST" A HEAT PAD IF SO I MIGHT ACTUALLY GET A UBV BUT ONLY TO SEE IT AND IT WONT BE ON VERY MUCH AT ALL..... HOW LONG WOULD I KEEP THE HEATPAD ON FOR AT A TIME (ex. put on 2-3 hrs put off 3-5 hrs) UM IF I WAS TO GET EVERYTHING I NEEDED FROM CALCIUM TO CRICKET TO THE TERRARIUM ITSELI NEED A TOTAL!! IM GETTING TH ESUPPLIES IN A WEEK!GECKO IN A MONTH.. ARE DIAL THERMOMETRES OK TO USE? PLEASE GETBACK TO ME!

  • i got uvb because the light came wit uvb

  • they dont need uvb

  • @gsd767 all animals benefit from uvb though.all indoor reptiles without natural unfiltered outdoor sunlight uvb should have calcium with the d3 in it.year-round outdoor pets recquire the calcium without the d3.even if they are nocturnal

  • leopard geckos need uvb light the place that i have been to toask for the equipment said that they recommend it because it stops them from getting metabolic bone disease and they said if you go to anypetshop they will tell you that you do no need a uvb because there nocturnal well they need uvb and he said every vet taht he has spoken to that has treated lizards/leopard gecko's said they would recommend the uvb light

  • you should do one on tokay geckos! lolz i'm getting one soon

  • u dont need uvb

  • Leapard geackos do not need UVB light I have been watching all of this guys vids on l geckos and thought it was good but now aim wondering if he knows what he's on about

    No UVB !!!

  • @THECRYTON they dont need it but can benefit from it slightly.thats what the calcium+d3 is for though

  • mine survived for 3 months without that crap and he was sick since i bought him i had to force feed him but he is still alive >.>

  • Just get 1 just incase then

  • could you list all of the things for me what i need to get started with my leopard gecko. Would be much appreciated.

  • leos dont need uvb light

  • should you have three lights then

  • Leopard geckos are nocturnal, doofus.

  • nocturnal reptiles do not require uvb light.

  • i did a bunch of research for leapord geckos cus im getting one for christmas (most likely) anyway all the websites ive seen say that you dont need UVB lights because geckos are nocturnal

why did this guy say they DO need UVB lighting

    can any1 help me?

  • @peopleguyhumans they dont need uvb

  • @peopleguyhumans The guy probably is getting paid for saying they need one, because people will think they'll die without one but they really don't need one. It really doesn't matter whether you have one or not.

  • @peopleguyhumans actually i have spoken to reptile vets and a person taht sells them where i have been for and i asked baout what equipment you need and he said they need at least a low tropical uvb light because they can get metabolic bone disease and the uv stops this from happening

  • i always use a plain red bulb

  • this guy should say so long noobvillage and make his own channel

  • do you leave a moonlight one on all night

  • Now do you need a special lamp or would any lamp do?

  • Im so confused... in the other video he said you need 1 night bulb, and 1 day bulb, why the hell do I need a 3rd light bulb in 1 tank...?

  • they dont need lighting

  • @Maul767 they dont? just a heating pad?

  • @Maul767 what do you use

  • @Maul767 i have to agree because vitamin from sun? they dont normally come out during the day

  • i used a lamp and he was fine

  • @darrylbyerlay a normal lamp?

  • i used a lap and he was fine

  • your gecko doesnt require much d3. your gecko gets all the d3 it needs from the crickets. as long as he's eating crickets he's fine with his d3 intake. to much d3 can be harmful to your gecko so i would dust the crickets with calcium without d3.

  • Geckos dont like bright light, it hurts there eyes and can even stress them out to the piont of not eating. Get a night light blub to be their day light, like 7 watts it perfect for them cause it a soft light. and yes you can turn the light off at night.

  • Leopard geckos are nocturnal. therefore they don't require uvb.

  • stupid

  • @rockleeandkibta i agree

  • your stuip u dont need uvb

  • Wait leopard geckos don't need UVB alot of people told me even the internet

  • So you need a day heat bulb, this one, AND a night one?

  • @Polishskatechick that's what I want to know to!

I'm so confused about this :(

    Did you find anything out?

  • @ckirstenm if the tempture is 75 and above the gecko does not need a heat lamp. if it goes below 75 then dont use a heat lamp cause that will kill you in your electricty bill, just get a heat pad, but heat pads have been knowen to go over 100 degrees, so you want to buy like a light dimmer and plug that with the haeter. then trun it on and raise it about half way (maybe more) and leave it for like ten minutes come back and with a thermometer read it temp, 90 degree is what you want :)

  • @ckirstenm after you find the 90 degree just mark the light dimmer where you have the switch raised to and there, you'll know everytime where to put the switch to. also read your gecko, if it's 74 but he's chilling away from the heat source then turn it off.

oh you can get a light dimmer at homedepot for like 10 bucks.

  • @MrTiagoSkater Well generally if you cant or it is just not safe taking your little gecko with you, then you should find a friend or a family member that you generally trust to take care of him. You can also try getting in contact with a local pet store, or a pet refuge. Hope this helped

  • @TheShotgun004 yea thats wat i thought just give them calcium with D3

  • hi! when you go in holidays, how you feed them?

  • Cant you just give your gecko calcium with D3 in it?

  • Leopard Geckos DO NOT NEED UVB and UVA Lights, just put a heater rock.

  • @TakashiLikesCoffe heater rocks might burn its stomach....

  • i didnt know u needed a uvb light ?

  • @MrNewties technacly you don't since they're nocturnal, but he makes a good point by saying that baby leos need it especially because they need more calcium to grow.

  • but cant you just give them calcium supplement???

  • @tixon434 yes, just make sure it has vitamin d3 in it.

  • @tixon434 yes

  • This video is fail i own 3 Gecko for 10 years and never use any lights

  • @TheNameJohnny

    There not qettinq Nutrition Johnny.

  • can u use Fish Tank light

  • I hate expert village

what's the point of bringing out so many short videos? why don't you get to everything you wanna say in 1 video?. how long will that be 10 mins?

you could help us alot more if you would just put it all in 1 video. instead saying the half of what you really wanna say. but well this is how expert village works they will allways cut it in the middle.

  • @MRsounddude true lol

  • can some one tell me wat color i should get for lighting?????

  • @Br0wnPridE0786 Red they cant see it and will cause them less stress than normal

  • While some of the stuff he's saying is true some stuff is wrong. For instance, leopard geckos do not need UVB light at all to survive provided they are properly supplemented

  • @BlinkingTwin i thought this tooo !

  • i was told when buying a baby leopord geko that i diddnt need to gut load my crickets or meal worms that if i got a uvb light that would keep my gekos calcium level were it needed to be is this right or wrong?

  • @dirtbikerider600

that is wrong...very wrong...u need to gut load and dust your feeders there whole life.

  • leopard gekos dont need to have UVA or UVB because they get it from the calcium that you put on the food and they only come out at night in the wild so they never get hardly any sun

  • where do these people come up with this junk...leopard geckos dont need heat lamps...you can get a redlight if you want like for show at night so you can see them..but leopard geckos get heat from there bellies...trust me i know...ive read about everycare sheet you can for theese guys...dont listen to him. jus use calc d3

  • @SobeTheGecko im sure he knows what hes talking about he actually works at petco/petsmart buddy

  • @noahleitner

are you kidding me lol, Some stuff he is saying is true ill give him that. But he also is wrong about alot of things...reptiles that needs lights are more of like bearded dragons and such, but as for people that work at petco/petsmart, those people are idiots and dont know much about them. the other day i was buying crickets from petsmart and that lady that was giving them to me was telling me that i need to feed my leopard gecko lettuce and vegtibles lol. so yea.

  • can i turn off the light at nite since geckos

    are nocturnal?

  • done listen to him... leopard geckos dont need ovb or full spectrum lighting cuz they're nocturnal... dont bother with uvb bulbs... just buy vitamin D3 powder...

if you have any questions i do have a leopard gecko care vid you can look at that atleast gets the facts right...

  • @toasterhead91 thumbs up and if you don't believe toaster will be doing a video about it and you guys can compare.

  • i already got a vid up... i posted it like last week i think...

  • @toasterhead91 I was talking about us posting a vid but ok.

  • ohh... lol, sweet ill check yours out

  • you can get D3 from calcium supplements you don't need a UVB bulb its just throwing away money

  • he is wrong alot but as long as you have a few hides for your gecko then you shouls have a uvb to be honest...

  • i have a heaing pad and a light bulb thing. do i put the light on top of the heating pad? do i even need the light? do i need it if its cold? like in winter.

  • to be honest guys im not listening to this shit...

Does anybody have any GOOD advise on what 2 Month old leopard gecko's should eat and how many regulary?

I Used to have a red heating light but it was way too powerful so i had to change it right away to a normal heating light so it wouldnt damage its eyes.

  • They cant see red! so you cant damage his eyes

  • ino but red bulb was so powerfull you cudnt see his colours and tank well.

  • I feed mine about 1-2 crickets or mealworms a day.

  • i only have a red light heating light is that good enoughe

  • nope

  • would these lights be needed during the winter cause its colder? idk

  • well if ur heat is on.

  • can u guys help me. i need to know more about these geckos. and from reading the comments idk if i shud listn to these vids

  • pinki fuzz is right they are night time pets!!! ex dicks

  • I hate expert village, they don't know what they're talking about, leopard geckos don't need uv light...

  • Sorry dear, you are very wrong. Leopard geckos are nocturnal. They don't need UVB or UVA lighting. In the wild they hunt at night so they aren't out during the day to benefit from the suns UVA/UVB lighting. It won't hurt them but its not needed. Also the spiral light he is holding, U shaped lights, party lights and Blacklight (not to confuse with nightglo) are actually hazardous to Leopard Geckos eyes. Use a soft white lamp bulb for heat but that is the only light they need.

  • i gotta qeustion i haev this big ass aqauirium but it has like the TL kinda light does that hurt the gecko because i can deck of one side or just take the cap of and put a light bulb thingy

  • leopard geckos are nocturnal so they won't need any uvb lighting the best types of lighting u can use for leos are red and blue bulbs as all reptiles are blind to these colors and this won't effect their eye sight not having any uvb will not cause mbd in a leopard gecko as calucium sould be provided for them in a small dish which should be kept in the viv at all times

  • uv kils geckos

    petacular and hoffmens said so

  • hey im gettin my leo in 7days any hints on what not to do and vise versa? By the way this guy i think is the best he realy seems to know what hes doin.

  • yeah I got great advice for you MrRepman.. do the opposite of what these fools say and you should have a great healthy animal.

  • I was walking through walmart about a week ago and in the middle of the alse thay had bottles of supplements. I looked closer and what do you know, they were bottles of calicuim/D3. cant you just sit a cap with this powder in their cage and everybody be happy??

  • id uvb the same as uva?

  • Can't you just go outside with them and let them soak up the sunlight for a hour or two? It is what they do in the wild. I know they need the heating light to regulate tempature, but are these $20 bulbs really needed? In low sunlight climates the light are probably needed.

  • a leopard gecko wont need uvb...its nocturnal

  • no they are not needed Chuchiscool. This is one reptile that doesn't require UVA/B

  • Comment removed

  • My tank is set up in my room but I tend to be a night person so my room light is usually on till 11pm-1am...will this affect my leopard gecko in anyway as night time is limited?

My room doesn't get any direct sunlight in the day though...

  • leopardgeckos dont need uvb

they dont even need light just a pad and you should only have either a heat light or a heat pad not both

  • yeah, but with the uvb, it helps them absorb calcium

  • WRONG. They NEED Uvb. Its like the sun. Calcium and Vitamin D come from it.

  • They are nocturnal no need for any lighting at all

  • cool vid but the advertisement is so fucking anoying

  • thats what you got the calcium with d3 they dont need uvb bulbs

  • leopard geckos are nucturnal so ofcourse its gonna hide in the sunlight b/c it sleeps during that time. plus the lgiht gives vitamin D and it helps w/ digesting calcium and keeps it warm.

  • as soon as as soon as i tolk it out it cam. hahahaha

  • this is rubbish they dont need this stuff once i put a light in with mine ! and it hide away all the time and as soon as as soon as i tolk it out it cam out of the shelter andwas happy again !! how can YOU be an expert !!

  • not true

1 you dont need uvb, geckos dont require it

and 2 you can get a normal compact florescent

    learn ur stufff

  • cool no hot be cuse leoard geckos like to be in the sun lol

  • gecko noob.....

  • they dont really need that asshole and they call you an expert

  • Leos do not need UV rays, as they are nocturnal. In the wild, they rarely see the light of day. Their need for light stems from their need for a sleep cycle. UV lights do not harm these geckos, but are an unnecessary expense. A white heat light is sufficient.
