  • This vid is So Win

  • lol u forgot to tell we some thing that charge shot at 3:12 is charge shots lvl1 and at 3:26 is lvl 2

  • question how do you get ex-act?

  • @Actariouse64 You don't need to unlock it; it's part of Nero's starting abilities. Just gotta nail the timing.

  • @ThunderousWrath ok thanks man

  • thx

  • What's with the gauge move wher eyou slide on an opponent? :)

  • i dont get what timing ur supposed to do because i dont get when u do it. Max Act and the Ex act work auto for me but i wanna learn how to do it.

  • you press LT when its ending the animation or begging?

  • how do I jump cancel on pc? I already have enemy step I want to go way higher then use the buster..how?

  • Man.. about MAX-Act. There are people who can do it EVERYTIME, pretty much, which is.... insane.

  • @VapourXY It's easy with a controller, with keyboard it's a fooking pain (mainly because it doesn't like my habit of using many buttons at once, so it kinda doesn't react :p like I can't jump while charging my gun. Annoying. D: )

  • Amazing video, thanks for this. All the others are so unclear about all these acronyms and stuff. You put it right out there, nice and clear. 5/5 ;D

  • Man, max-act is hard.

    I envy you. xD

  • umm can is it possible to upload videos the same as this one and how you press bottont in your controler at the same time?.... hehe i only dont want to know..i alos want to learn... there are lots of cool stuffs ive seen in this vedio..i want to know how to do it succesfully right! hehe im not demanding..just want to know if its possible ^_^ thanks guys for advance

  • 2:40 made that point outrageously clear!

  • At first I though that Max Act was pointless until awhile ago when I watched this video now I use it all the time when I played DMC 4 I can't always get it perfect but I'm working on it.

BTW thanks for making this video if this video wasn't here I would have still though that Max Act was pointless.

    Again Thanks

  • I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't catch the Ex-Calibur joke until just now...

  • @Archonus Excalibur......got it now ?

  • Yeah, that's what I got when I posted that comment.

I didn't think of it as excalibur, but as an EX version of Calibur.

  • really awesome video im pretty decent with nero but always looking for some extra tips you helped me out on the exceed gauge thanks

  • Dude ur awesome!

  • ok a tip, map ur 360 controller

    LB for X and viceversa

hold LB (shooting) while fighting and release it when its fully charged... it will increase greatly your gameplay dude and you will stop making so called beginners tutorials while you are still one of them

  • Lol every vid has a hater.

  • well said

  • I prefer to play with default controls. I find that it I like to use the defaults more than any custom-mapped control scheme.

If you think I haven't tried alternate controls, think again. I was experimenting with custom controls for GS mode in DMC3 YEARS ago, and -- guess what? -- I found that I like the default controls better, and that custom controls didn't "increase greatly" my gameplay.

Maybe if you remapped your superiority complex it would decrease greatly your jackassness.

  • @ThunderousWrath - hey man awesome video...i almost wrecked my pc when u stopped showing the "benefits" of Max act ... lol ... i just wanna know...do u need to buy the abilities or can you just do them...and what time do u click the rev button...end?

  • Can you do more tutorials. Maybe on Dante. I really liked this tut.

  • I meant to do some more videos on DMC4, and maybe I will some time, but at this point I haven't touched the game in a while.

Like every other DMC game (even 2), I will no doubt come back to it eventually, and then I will gladly make more vidoes.

Until then, there are other vids posted by superior players boasting advanced (as opposed to beginners') techniques. You should check those out if you want to develop some real skill.

  • dude, THANK YOU, this vid was not only very awesomnes also helped me alot.

    thnx, 5/5 subscribed and fav.

  • SCHWEEEEE-EEE!

  • great video but i couldnt quite undestand how to do max act if you can pm me explaining how to do it =)

  • max-act is the same as ex-act, just with more accurate timing needed

  • could you do a tutorail on the calibar jump cancel and how to do max act perfectly please.

  • It's all in timing for Max Act, just like he said.

  • i did pass exceed to the right trigger en gun attack to the left trigger its good for charged shots.

  • Nice work. Btw, what program(s) do you use to edit your videos?

  • thanks it helped me a lot but can plz show me the max act in slow motion so i can find the perfect timing in slow motion plz make new video and let me know about the new video.thanks again.

  • There isn't any real way of anyone showing you the timing of when to exeed.

You simply have to nail it by studying the attacks... You press the EX button once an attack is over <- You need to practice alittle on RQ's attacks with no enemys arround first, to get the feel of when to press the EX button, then after you master this EXing becomes somewhat more easy in mid-combat.

Note: Always keep your ears pealed for the EX sound... react accordingly, so you can exeed again.

    Hope this helps...

  • practicing atm e.e waaaa almost max ex D: only able to do 1 lamp lol

  • Sweet. Nothing I didn't already know, but still pretty nice. :) At first I thought that the posing thing during Streak was a glitch the first time it happened. Never tried jump canceling with the Faust before... I'll need to try that next time.

    Again, nicely done. :D

Also of note: for those on the PS3, it helps to reconfigure the controls so the gun command is on R2. (Dunno if it's been said before here. Sorry for the redundancy if it has been.)

  • Thanks for the info, although i knew almost everything you said, it was very well explained and i can see, by the comments that it helped a lot. I learned a new way of getting off Fausts' cloaks xD but im no good at JC even if i played all DMC games, i just dont really like that thing, i prefer using pandora for Fausts :D

  • damn thx! im a DMC4 n00b and this helped A LOT!

  • Haven't seen you for a long time, Thunderous.

    ~Shadow Edge

  • Awsome~!

  • Man, 2 months ago i watched this, and it helped me a lot...i scored 529 990 in Bloody Palace along with an S rank...thanks to you...you should advice players, both on X box 360 and PS3 to change the shot button to make it easier charging the shots(RT for X Box 360)...

  • wow, i didn't knew there could be a better way to pull that shit out of it's cloak (at the end) cool :]

  • I haven't done this before but it helps and its cool

  • Excellent

  • awesome dude thnks 4 da help much thanks again

  • Thx for the help dude!

  • what software do you use to make vids like this?

  • Good ol'fashioned Windows Movie Maker. Free to download, although I think it comes with newer versions of Windows.

  • oh i use wmm too but i cant figure out haw to edit like that

  • Experiment. All of the effects in the beginning are achievable with WMM, it's just a matter of learning how to combine them to make it look cool.

  • thankyou for teaching noobs these kind of moves can be done with the traditional setting.

  • great vid man

  • Yeah, there's a little bit of a pause inbetween the attack button and the charge button.

Everybody uses different cues to help with their timing. For myself, I like to watch for that little trail-effect that follows the Red Queen.

  • Great video unlike the others that just want to show off. But one question though. Do you press the L-trigger a little after a hit attack.Whats the the timing. Is it something like this.

    Attack...L-Trigger?

  • nice playing, this video will help me so much, thanks

  • Thats one of the best guides I ever saw, really good and clear. Thanks, it really helped me.

  • Well done.

  • dude...great video!! thanx!

  • Nice :D

  • keep up the good work man :D

  • You should stick to the D&D cartoons I know you don't know who I am but fuck you doggie!!!!

  • Hahaha...

  • Excellent tutorial! Keep 'em coming!

  • Good video.

  • DUDE THANX ALOT!!

this is one heck of a tutorial and now i cant wait to gully unleash the Ex-Gauge Potential!

u think u can make one about Dante?

i didnt really follow the other DMC games...so i'd realli appreaciate it...

  • I've been meaning to make more videos, but right now my life is pretty hectic. Between working full-time, my girlfriend, and being about to move out of my parents' place, it's really tough to find the time.

Don't worry, though! I'll get to it eventually.

  • Nero i hate most, just because it got so few attack combos. all newbies( no offense if any new players read this) tells me Nero is the best one to play because of the easy controll.

i played DMC3 and got S on all missions. i love Dante and can easily reach SSS in matter of seconds, but i REALLY need help with Nero. how can i kill anything on DMD mode? i try to exceed and the charged shoot, still it is ot enough. i dont find side roll to be equal to trickster style...

  • Side roll isn't equal to Trickster Style, but Table Hopper is extremely effective with a good sense of timing.

Also, Nero doesn't have "few attack combos." He's got four variations of his standard ground combo! That's twice as many as Dante has for two of his three weapons. Nero also gets three seperate airborne attacks with the Red Queen -- Dante gets one per weapon.

  • that's a really odd problem. I was able to hit the ground running with nero pretty easily, Some of the easiest ways to master Nero are to master the exceed for every swing (it seems hard at first but once you master one combo you'll start to get good at it) and learn to charge shot while using devil bringer. If you're playing a console version of DMC4 it's hard but by making good use of your index finger you can keep a charge shot held down at all times without sacrificing anything. =)

  • Like I state at the end of the video, I play using a standard 360 controller with default controls. It's not that difficult to hold down the Gun button while hitting the Melee button with the same thumb -- if you've got big thumbs like me.

  • GREAT WORK!!!! 5 STARS

  • Thanks for the vid. Hate to say it, but I went through Human mode (First time playing DMC) without touching EX. After watching this though, one thing is clear:

I am newb, hear me cry

  • Thanks so much! Fantastic vid

  • Thanks so much! Fantastic vid

  • awesome video!!! Answered ALL of my questions!

  • Nice vid you got here

If i remember correctly charge shots launch enemies up if you are above them as well, not just when they are downed.

  • nice vid cant wait 4 the next one.

  • yo thanks for the tips they helped out great

  • thx for your help i like this video

  • This was absolutely amazing. Very, very nice video.

  • Thanks for the comment! Look forward to seeing some more stuff in the future.

  • Excellent video, can't wait to see more. That SSS blew me away haha.

  • Yeah, that's easily my favorite part of the whole video.

  • Fantastic vid and your play skills are first class, keep up the great work. :)

  • "First class" is flattering for what I do here, but thanks for the compliment!

I do plan to keep up the "great work" with more videos, so keep your eyes open in the coming weeks. Thanks again!

  • Pretty awesome! Thanks, XD. I can only IR (99% of the time) and Max-ACT (40% of the time) Streak, High Roller, and Split. In fact... that's all I do in most of my BP vids... gets boring fast.

  • I personally find it easier to EX-Act, or IR, using regular old non-command moves. I feel almost ashamed of how quickly I picked up on it, though, because I took to it quite naturally while others (who will probably end up way better than me at this game) still struggle with it.

  • Nicely done. This should help the newbies some. I do all that stuff but JC.

  • Like I said, Nero isn't at all reliant on JCing, and the skill isn't necessary to beat the game even at its highest difficulties.

It just adds a little extra flair to the gameplay, that's all.

  • damn that max-act of yours is awesome, I cant even nail it once -_-"

  • It's pretty tough to nail -- takes a lot of practice. Still surprise myself about half the time when I pull it off.

  • Any chance for a explanation of that Lucifer sword? I just can't seem to nail that one.

  • I'll very likely be making a few different Dante videos, keeping them short and explaining topics individually rather than trying to roll everything about Dante at once.

...Your request has been duly noted, however.

  • That is very well done ThunderousWrath.

May I link to this from some forums I go to?

  • Feel free to link this wherever you want.

  • Very, very nice indeed. My compliments for this useful video.

  • Thanks for the comment!

Time to get to work on the Dante video...
