If someone raped and killed MY daughter, i'd be out for blood. I'm in favor of the death penalty. But, i do NOT support capital punishment. To clarify: It's not the state's job to murder someone on my behalf. Capital punishment is not about justice, for what justice can there be in the presence of irreparable loss. It's purely about vengeance. Besides, there's too much ceremony involved. Shoot the guilty in the head and be done. If he's later found innocent, then death upon his judge and jury.

Death penalty cases are almost always political. Even conservatives are starting to express doubts about the application of these cases. In general, conservatives hate seeing emotion used to promote political decisions.
