  • i first heard this song cuz of the ABBA dance game for Wii that my sister got for christmas, been hooked on it ever since

  • I'd never heard this before until yesterday when they played about a ten second clip of three different songs on a quiz show on the radio and you had to name the connection between the songs and this was one of the songs. Love it. Thank god for radio 4.

  • @flares It's a great song, part of the mini-musical they performed during many of their live shows and highlighted in their movie " ABBA The Movie " Another good song and video to catch is " Get On The Carousel " ( Live Australia '77 ) HQ by 2Shaymcn! He's a very good friend of mine and posts outstanding live ABBA videos! Thanks for looking in!

    Peace...Jim

  • We did a colorguard routine to this :D I captured our "puppet master" when us "puppets" revolted and put our master on marionette strings!

  • If you notice a lot of their songs after a few years is about the hardships of their lives and the demands of their time AND the toll it takes/took in their personal and professional lives. It is almost as if they were telling us what was going on with them and we can understand why they broke up and they would rather not deal with one another as a group anymore.

  • the beats amazing.xx

  • Possibly my favourite Abba, dark, serious and with almost tragic undertones. Brilliant.

  • I grew up in Bangladesh and English was a dreadful subject in school for me. When I heard the song first, you know English was difficult to me then, and ABBA got a further twist in that, I rushed to find the lyrics! Outward bound pushed around reff..eugee and the rhythm got me like the the song in the first instance! That was in 1978? Can our next gen have another ABBA for them?

  • This is such an amazing song. It's so very different from the rest of ABBA's work, but it's fantastic nevertheless. One of their best songs imo.

  • Excellent work on this tune and video

  • This song is perfect. It's not even a pop? I know that from the beginning and it still amazes me. Great video, thanks.

  • great!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where can I download this ?????

  • I've posted another (faster) version of this song from Abba the Movie in the Video answers. Enjoy

  • 1978 y ¿ABBA ya hacía power metal? A las pruebas me remito.

  • One of the greatest pop songs ever written, just sublimely brilliant.

  • Thanks Ken, I appreciate your stopping by.

    Peace...Jim~

  • ABBA in their best!!!!!1 They're amazing.. the best n the world... my idols!!!!!!!

  • The best ABBA song, shame hardly anyone's heard of it.

  • are you kidding? this is a very famous song Kisses of fire or Lovelight are unknown Abba songs but this one is often played

  • You are correct sir - this is most definitely the best Abba song ever. It's the heaviest for sure. The only complaint is I could do without the cheesy guitar solo with the 70's disco strings. ;)

  • If there is a complaint in your review of this track, how can this be their best track to you? If it's that good-no complaints!

  • Well nothing's perfect - ;)

  • I know! I just heard it like last week because i saw the movie ABBA.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!

  • This is a masterpiece...

  • I never really likes this version. I live the live version more.

  • this is great song but i think it's a little bit scary :DD

  • You'll be alright!....

  • This song gives me a goosebumps...personally, I think this is one of the best songs from ABBA.

  • when I hear the part 1:25 - 2:20, I always imagine windy weather..semi-cloudy sky..like when you step out of the house and don´t want to do anything because it´s too windy and uncomfortable :D

  • Thanks for uploading!

  • Abba is was amazing, and half of their amazing songs are totally un-known...

  • i loooooove this song <33

  • How can this song be so unknown?! I'd never heard of it until recently. It's a masterpiece!!! ABBA had greath depth and range, it's sad that only their fans know that,

  • Thank you for taking the time to stop and watch my video. I'm like you...I'm 47 years old and have been a fan since 1974 and I've found so many treasures here in the last 2 years that I've been making vids of Abba as a group and their solo works! There music is so timeless in my opinion.

Peace from Iowa ( USA )...Jim~

  • A big thank YOU for sharing their great work!! I agree that their work is timeless. Youtube is fantastic, and I hope that lots of yung kids will stumble upon your videos. So that they can see what REAL composing is as opposed to the plastic, soul less crap on the radio today.

  • The Album is a work of art.

It is up there with Sargent Pepper and Pet Sounds.

    Pure genius.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • I agree.

It literally could claim to be THE Album of all time.

  • I´m sure The Album is their best album...quite far away from the catchy pop of Waterloo or Mamma mia...

The name of the game, Eagle, One man one woman, I´m a marionette, I wonder, Thank you for the music...only masterpieces!

  • THE ALBUM was one of the best releases ever from anyone.

  • I totally agree with you on that. I don't think I would even try to put them in any order, although I do have a top 3 of my own.

  • Put up your volume and you hear a great ABBA song

  • This song is divine. Abba's the Album was the first album i ever bought and i still think its fantastic 30 years on!

  • I agree. This was the first Abba album I ever bought although I was addicted to them since 73 or 74. My first album was Roberta Flack's Killing Me Softly.

  • One highlight from "Abba- the Album", but what was the so-called "Mini- musucal" "The Girl with the Golden Hair" about?

  • It was put together by B&B before ABBA started their first major world tour of Europe and Austrailia in 1977. The boys wanted something to end their shows before the encores. "The Girl With The Golden Hair" mini-musical consisted of 4 songs.."Thank You For The Music, I Wonder(Departure), I'm A Marionette, and Get On The Carousel". The storyline was about a girl wanting to be famous, getting famous, then seeing the downside of it. I hope that explains it all.

    Thanks for looking in.

    Peace, Jim~

  • nice one ;-)

  • Brilliant song, first time I hear this ABBA song. Can't believe I've never heard it before. What a nice surprise.

  • Thanks a lot!! I always supported Agnetha! The true voice of ABBA. I will do what you guys suggested, thanks for the help. ABBA and Agnetha fans are the best!!

  • Hey there Jim, I see you favor Agnetha, do you have her solo album My Colouring Book? relesed in 04? I cannot find it anywhere.

  • Hey, how's it going? I don't have it in the form of an album, I have it as seperate songs.

Have you tried E-Bay or Amazon? When I initially tried to buy it, I was informed it is an Import album. If you don't have any luck with these two, try some of the ABBA sites or clubs. Good luck!

  • Nordy9276, Jim is definately right on! I used Amazon to buy this album and it did have a short delay in receiving because they sub to an oversea's supplier. This album is a must have for Agnetha fans anywhere because it was her 17 year resurface and a dedicated memoir to her family. She used her children (Linda and Peter Christian)as backup singers in the making of some of the songs on this album. And bonus,it's romantic! Enjoy!

  • Did you do this for all the songs?? I would love to hear Summer Night City with more audio.

  • I started doing this about oh, maybe 10 or more video's back. It's the only way to listen to these songs. I just finished my 200th self-made video "Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny, Anni-Frid They "Are" Abba! I'm looking for a new idea...Keep watching, you never know!

    Thanks for watching.

    Peace, Jim~

  • WOW!!! This song is GREAT!!!! >D

  • now i am hearding this song for a fourth tme!! great song!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you. The stereo audio makes it even better to listen to! Thanks for looking in.

    Peace, Jim~

  • this is an amazing band

i recently saw a documentary about them on the documentary channel

but then had this amazing version of this song where the pianist plays theses chords over and over. I'm not sure what but it really sounded good. I'm thinking my band should do this as a cover song

  • They are a band that to date have sold over 400 million records, CD's, etc! The only band that has sold more would be the Beatles(and maybe Elvis)! They continue to sell millions every year, and were once offered 1 billion dollars to reunite, which they turned down. Thank you for looking in!

    Peace, Jim~

  • Great sound on this one! Are you remastering the stereo track yourself and punching it up a bit or is this right off the album? I wish someone would dress up the audio on Carousel. I guess it's only in the movie? I'd love to hear that one remastered and stereo on YT. I really like these mini-musical pieces. Good job.

  • I've got a great friend who sent me the entire album "ABBA The Album(Remastered)". I then ran it through an AVC(Any Video Converter)and converted it to a better quality stereo sound. The sound on this track is amazing, but even more so after converting it. Thank you for looking in.

    Peace, Jim~

  • Thanks for the info, Jim. I'm having a great time watching all these ABBA videos from you and others. When the audio is as good as this one is, it's a real treat.

    ~Mike

  • Thanks Mike. I really appreciate all the great feedback that I get on my video's. I've only been doing this for 10 months and I find new ways to improve every day. Stay tuned, I'll have another treat later tonite!

    Peace from Iowa, Jim~

  • A really great song and video! Definitely the best song from "The Girl With The Golden Hair". Keep it up, Jim!

  • Thank you. This is definitly one song that benefits greatly from the stereo sound! The non-stop action also helps you to keep your attention tuned in to the video!

  • You're welcome.

Yes, I would have loved get my videos in stereo too, but I don't know how to do it. They are in stereo on my computer, but when they are uploaded they are in mono.

And by the way, tomorrow I will start working on two new ABBA videos.

  • Still grooving of this song and sound!

    Jim, look what you`ve done!

  • All you have to do is watch once and you'll be hooked! Stay tuned, later today i'm gonna bring back another rockin Abba favorite of mine, only this time in stereo! Thank you Laura, it's nice to start my day off in a good way!

  • This was great!!! An instant favourite:)

  • Thank you Aggy.

  • Great Video. ABBA...the ultimate superstar group.

  • You gave delight to me! Thanks for this song and sound! I used to love this song very much and now you brought it back! Somehow sad song,if Agnetha felt about her singing sometimes like "I`m everybody`s pet just as long as I sing... I`m a marionette".But anyway very excellent job Jim!

  • Very well put Laura. "Everybody pulls the strings", Sounds like she had given in and just let them decide where and when she did things. Thank you for the nice comment.

  • Wow,this is great,another masterpiece Jim.

  • Thanks Dianne. This is the first video I've done with the music from "Abba The Album Remastered"! Do you like the new stereo sound?

  • Sure do Jim,first time I've heard this song in stereo, awesome keep them coming.

  • This one took me about 3 hours to do. Sometimes I have to have just the right pics in order to do a vid and with over 10k pics, that's a lot of looking! Thanks Dianne.

  • This sounds fantastic! Great photos as well.

  • Thanks Kat, I've got a great on ready to go, hopefully soon! The B/W pics are favs of mine.

  • Sitting back in my front row seat watching this Jim. You get the impression you're at the concert with all your stage pics. Black & white is ideal for early years. This is a strong song well delivered by the girls, but not the happy subject normal for Abba. It's all a bit dark for an Abba song. Great stereo sound you've produced Jim, nice clear start.

  • Got another one in the bullpen John, keep an eye open!

  • Love the vid Jim, some great b/w live pics

Nice remastered sound for this underated song

    One of your best

  • Thanks Shay, I think I'm finally getting the hang of all this transitions and effects thing. I find that if I go slow (2.5 hours for this one) it can be an awfully good video.

  • Those slow zooms look really good with the concert pics.

  • I think i've found something I like in the effects department. I wasn't to sure about them at first. Afraid of mixing it up and leaving my safe place I guess. Thanks Shay.

  • I love this song! great sound Jim :)

  • Pretty under appreciated song and I think one of their better live songs they performed. This song had to have had people jumping all around. Non stop action in this one. Thanks Elin, oh and a quick dumb question. How's the stereo going on your end?

  • absolutely :)

stereo, yeah... still working on that thing. but i'm too impatient, I'll keep making videos without 'til I get it right:)

But I know it will be soo much better with stereo.

  • Terrific pics in your own adrenalin pumping mini-musical Jim. :D Outstanding!

  • Thanks to you for making sure that this great music keeps going forward in the world. You supplied the music, all I did was put a few pictures together showing my love for the music! Thank you Shawn.

  • No shortchanging yourself allowed here Jim. A few pictures together? Much more Love went into it than that, we all know it and are Thankful to you for it. Wonderful!

  • Oh, please don't...stop it! No really don't stop it. Thanks buddy!

  • Wonderful song Jim and the Pictures are very excellent....BRAVOOOOO..... :):):)

  • Thank you Matilda. Yes It is good to have you back, and leaving comments once again. It was getting a little quiet without you! Hugs, Jim~

  • Thanks for sharing!Im still alive.hehe

  • Thank you Mareielle for watching. It sounds like a little boy needs his computer time taken away. You'll always be here to be are friend so we'll ignore whatever his name is. Keep watching, Peace Jim~

  • A very exciting song Jim, thank you for this studio version! I like it very much!

  • I just received the tracks Jun, and I had to start sharing. I glad you like it!
