  • I like to play the root of the chord higher than the rest of the notes, it's easier to stretch.

  • hufa.,.,

  • its not working :(

  • awsome

  • I just replayed it, this is REALLY the sound I wanna get, love the rythem...

  • this is the sound i am trying for..can you post some more stuff like this, and break down the riffs for us

  • You make it look so easy, the improvation.... I can't do both togheter yet... Annoying.

  • woow teach us more

  • that guitar is beautiful whered you get it?

  • check out my channel for more vids on chord progressions and melodies.

  • This is the 1-4-5 in F major. Honestly, I was not aware that you could play a minor scale over those dominant chords. Perhaps thats why they call them dominant....because you can play major or minor notes over the top?....not sure. Usually, the blues is played in minor....so I was surprised to see major chords. They are major 7 chords with a minor 7th....I guess thats why it works. Cool video, and thanks. Ill try it tomorrow.

  • You couldn't play this in the Kay of C?

  • Is the blues scale and chords really that simple? I never knew!

  • :] Yes!

  • somethng doesnt sound good on those chords, i think is the piano, please have it checked , tuned maybe.

  • Best instrument evvarrrr... Wait. I also play guitar.

  • plz tune your piano

  • Sounds fine to me.

  • ^^likes

  • try gmaj7, b7, emin7, a7, then either:d7/cmaj7-cmin7, then back to gmaj7 :P, it is a lotta fun :P

  • This is Great!

  • i've played cello for maybe 5 years but i still don't understand music speak that well. what is chord progession.

  • chord progression is the movement of base chords through a song. for example you can be playing in C major in a song but C major will not always be the base chord of the song. so the accompaniment etc will not just be playing a C chord or arpegio, they will also play things like F Chords just so the music moves along better and keeps it interesting

  • in blues/jazz the 7th diminished chord its called simply the 7th chord because its widely used (specially as a dominant in chord families). so F A C Eb would be a f7th chord in jazz and a F7th diminished in classic. F A C E its called an f7th major chord

i dont know... ppl just dont want long names on things they use frecuently

so moontusk and the oter with the weird name are both right, one its talking blues language and the other classic :P

  • That first chord wasn't a real f7

  • hahaha umm...care to explain?

    F A C Eb seems like a "real" f7 to me.

  • Eb isn't part of the seventh the E natural is thats a minor seventh

  • Technically you're right. But if you're a jazz musician and you see an F7 you would automatically assume it's an F dominant 7 unless it had a triangle next to the F or if it said Fmaj7. So, I guess you're right. The Eb is the minor 7th, and the E is the actually 7th. Damn technicalities =P

  • a minor 7th would mean the chord was minor. What you're refering to is a flat or diminished 7, since a single tone can't be major or minor. If the seventh were E natural, it would be an augmented 7 since Eb is in the key he's teaching in.

  • The interval above the root can be minor/major (in the case of a 7th) though: So goes the blues/jazz terminology, it's one of the reasons classical pianists have a hard time with jazz I guess... I know I did/do :p.

  • no, e natural makes f major 7, just f7 is eb :P

  • @1ONE1XHEDIE minor 7th is the DOMINANT 7th

  • hahaha i answered my phone when yours rang

  • your piano got the worst tone ever

  • true dat.

  • I find your video to be very helpful and instructional...like the person before me, I want to bring it all together...Keep up the good work my friend....

  • Sure I'll make a new video on bringing it all together.

  • Feedback? Is this helpful? I want to know if I should cover more area's of jazz. Maybe some two hand voicing stuff? I dunno. FEEDDDBBAACCKK!! =P

  • Yeah, I think it was helpful. I've got the chords and the scales down. Can you give any guidance to making it all come together and sound good?
