@adamlowery depends greatly on your own weight,so it varies person from person. I have about 170lbs and so 4m kite is minimum for me... but you have to count with wind too. So I with my weight,with 4m kite need about 6m/s wind to get up...

you dont need a depower to do safe jumps.... Plenty of safe jumps are made daily on fixed bridals. Agreed on the safety gear, but kiting is dangerous anyway, a depower wont save a dumbass

any size can get you to jump really it depends on your techinque and the weather around you. ive had my 1.45m radsail pull me out of a buggy the winds where that strong.

I went 12 ft up in the air on my kite and as i let go to pull the break lines, for some reason the lines that are meant to have a breaking strain of a ton snapped and i fell from 12 to 13 ft ..... Painfull sport but one of the most exiting!!

It´s not a matter of weight, but hability... You just use a smaller kite... I´ve done some jumps (but far low from this ones...), with a 10m kite, since I have 110 kg ! C ya!

Kinda hard to use kite killers on a DUAL LINE sport kite..

If he stepped up to the plate, and got a quad line kite, there wouldnt have been any issue with letting go, and the kite killers would have closed the sail.
