This song was inspired by John Milton's writing titled "The Tenure's of Kings and their Magistrates" which was written as an indictment of unjust monarchical rule. Milton was probably best known for writing the epic "Paradise Lost" which inspired another Blind Guardian song, "Control the Divine."
