You are filling liquid - humping will lower the fuel level in your car tank. Unlike eg. cereal where you shake the bottle to settle the contents. Liquid aways finds it's own level.

I seen this many times at petrol stations in JB and always its some stupid sinkie car. Travelled the whole world and have never seen this practice anywhere except in SG cars pumpimg in JB.these people have no bloody cow sense.petrol is liquid and incompressible (basic law of physics)and no matter how you shake no add amount can be pumped in. Even if it does,how much more can you fill? a few cc more? that's a few cents only and it show how REALLY stupid ,desperate/kiasu people are. Shameless
