Actually, its Shawn Barclay, not Paul. They did have a lot of ties to Slipknot, but not in members. Barclay is the only member of the band to no longer be with them, replaced by Martinie. Sorry if someone else has already pointed this out.

Slipknot did start on this band out, corey helped to shoot these guys out into the main stream on MTV2. They used to play together in Iowa. HOWEVER, Mudvayne is so much more technical than Slipknot, and more vocally and musically advanced. Chad's voice blows Corey Taylor's out of the water (which is saying something because Taylor's voice is great at times). And Mudvayne's shows are just bloody amazing. Corey can't perform live. Mudvayne rules, hands down, no questions.

Mudvayne absolutley SUCKS live Chad used to be great but after L.D. 50,he decreased big time I love both slipknot and muvayne but slipknot is WAY heavier and way more melodic than mudvayne.Corey is much better at singing than Chad .he descreased too,but not as much as chad. James Root destroys Greg Tribbett Joey Jordison is better than Matt but Ryan is better than paul grey,ill give you that and have you seen slipknot live??? theres just no comparison Slipknot owns them live!
