That's ' the way science is done ', apparently.
Otherwise, you'll have people claiming that they are surrounded by aliens- demanding that the government do something about it - but demanding that critics concoct experiments to falsify it in order to cancel the massive sums you have convinced the gov't to spend.

Had you read my post you might have figured out that I am in agreement with you. Instead you spit your binkey out and started screaming.
@CPOSharkey01 How so? The guy those climatologists were hiding the data from? He was a canadian who used to work for mining companies.
Also he was never disputing that there was global warming, he was disputing the severity. Around half or maybe 2/5ths of what the climatologists were claiming. So it's still there, but not nearly as severe as what they were claiming.
He got suspicious because the graph was similar to what he used to look out for in bad data.
SirTimbo, first of all the climatologist in question failed to respond to 95 Freedom of information request, so the information was being kept from everyone.
The data or reference material these climatologist based their statements and studies on are falling away on a daily basis. Just yesterday the organization that provided the sea level studies indicated that their models were wrong and so withdrew them.
I have never disputed that warming is occurring but is it man made.

fair enough about al gore's footprint, but you've got to be either extremely stubborn or extremely stupid not to realise that global warming is hugely increased by humans, not caring about it is one thing but denying it altogether is just retarded.
There is literally no data that conclusively draws up humans as the cause for "Global warming", "Climate change", or whatever moniker you are using to express the supposed man-made effects you are talking about. Literally. No. Data.
Deductive logic does not produce a very valid theory for climate change, and given the recent things such as ClimateGate we now have to question the validity of information itself. Which should be done of course, but there is not even an empirical consensus on temps

i dont get it. hes saying he doesnt believe were affecting our atmosphere, hes obviously not for green energy, so why is he calling them hypocrites if hes not for it anyway
Not bad at all. Sums it up pretty well. Being skeptical of the latest doomsday prediction (ie manmade global warming) isn't "mocking science" but rather being realistic. Science once held that the Earth was going into the catastrophe of global cooling not that long ago. What happened to that?
Actually Science didn't believe that there was an impending Ice Age. Individual scientists, and not a whole lot of them did. There were very few cooling prediction in peer reviewed papers and it became obvious fairly early that the opposite was happening.
Actually there were quite a few scientists who were claiming we were heading to an ice age because of cooler temperatures. Just as with global warming, there were predictions of doom. As we know now, those predictions were worthless even though scientists made them.
One can easily find articles in Newsweek and Time about the cooling world from the early 1970's. These can be found on the internet. Sci journals are more dicey given one would have to dig through the bowels of a library for specific titles from 40 years ago.
The point is that climate has changed throughout the history of the world and that it is folly to assume mankind is responsible for it.
Those are primary news magazines of the time period which one can easily find on the internet. As I already stated, finding peer reviewed journals requires one to delve into the lower recesses of sci libraries of which not everyone has access to.
so you cant..... How can you claim that there were a great number of scientists who claimed this when you cannot find any info other than Time Magazine. Don't give me but Id have to go deep into the scientific libraries. The internet makes info, at least titles and abstracts, available. Google scholar alone allowed me to see one from 1956. What of the climate change skeptics that do have access to scientific search engines? Why dont they tell you the vast amount of scientists who said that?
Here's another one that even includes CO2 along with aerosols.
"Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide and Aerosols: Effects of Large Increases on Global Climate" Science Vol. 173 July, 1971 (The upshot of this article is these fellows thought that although CO2 might warm the Earth, the real danger was global cooling by aerosols which could trigger another ice age. This was seconded by Earl Barrett of NOAA in his apper in Solar Energy in Sept. 1970.)
And here's another reference. While this isn't an article, it does deserve mention. It appeared in "Nature" (Jan. 17, 1975) under the title of "Aerosols and Climate: Warmer or Cooler". The upshot is that it references original fears of an ice age from aerosols.
So you found 3.... does that seem like a huge amount of scientist? Of course it isn't. The point is that there wasn't a huge amount of scientists, there were a few individual scientists. Heck let me use the newsweek article really quickly.
"Our knowledge of climatic change is fragmentary. Not only are the basic scientific questions largely unanswered but in many cases we dont yet know enough to pose the questions." From the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.
Huge amount? I invested only a small amount of my time (I don't have that much to begin with) and only perused two journals that I thought would have material about climate change at my library and only from 1970-1975.
The point is that the ice age scientists were there. Furthermore, as I mentioned from "Aerosols and Climate", the author referenced earlier fears about aerosols causing an ice age. That shows that ice age fears were there.
Let's assume for a second you are right. Scientists at one time thought that the earth was heading into another ice age. So what? Science is a self correcting system, when they get something wrong, Evidence of there error comes to light and they change their minds. This is how science works and why it works so well. In fact it points more to scientists being more willing to change their minds.
nospace, that's exactly what I am pointing out here. Scientists sometimes get it wrong, and it doesn't make someone (and I'm not accusing you of saying that but I have heard others say it) stupid or evil or (to quote Bill Nye recently) "almost unpatriotic" to question scientific theories like man-made global warming. If scientists (and people in general) didn't question the status quo, science would never advance. That's all I'm saying.
I dont give a fuck about climate change and i hate being brow beated by lefty fucking treehugging scumbags. I take lots of planes, i leave the tap running, i cut down trees for the hell of it, i have a 5ltr car and i rev the shit out of it, i recycle though
Funny how your mom screams my name when I stick my cock up her ass. Twelve inches and balls deep. She loves it. I blow cum all over her face and she begs to eat it. That's conservatives for you. They are the garbage of the world. Not even human. Their women are whores who beg for satisfaction from liberals because their husbands and children are all pedophiles, faggots, or priests.
Al Gores, or the chorus, magnitude of scientists that disagree? THEY are all wrong, eh? Enough of a doubt there to not cripple our country and turn back the clock to candle power without studying it in depth?
Its not about saving the Earth...for the left, its just another tool to cripple America. Thats all their after. They dont give a shit about the Earth.
There is not a magnitude of scientist that disagree, there are some, but even those don't make the same silly claims that the conservatives in the media/ anti warming movement make. The fact is that the majority, the vast majority of peer reviewed papers and studies support man made global warming. You may think they are wrong and that is fine, just don't make crazy stupid claims.
@nospacesallowed Twenty years scientist were convinced of "Global cooling" and were getting lots of research money to prove it. Now its "global warming" Next it will be some new thing to scare the masses into giving up their life force to big government....
BS There was one throw away sentence about a possibility in on paper which did not make it all the way through the peer review process said their could be a significant drop in temp. Time picked it up and said "Scientists say" Hence a myth is born.
Find me the peer reviewed sources that say this, and one isn't sufficient to say that "scientists were convinced" You will have to find many to be able to make that claim. aka link or it did not happen. This is skepticism by the way demand evidence.
interesting how a small hand full of scientist where able to keep disagreeable findings being peer reviewed. Their is a you tube video posted last week from UC Berkley, in that video the UC Berkley scientist were bemoaning the the lack of science that the CRU engaged in. You should check it our its about an hour and 45 minutes long but you get the idea in about 20 minutes.
Let's face it Berkley scientist are not conservative and if they are upset, there probably is something to worry about.
I looked into it, and only a few denial "experts" claim it's a fraud. But there has been no consensus or overwhelming number of scientists, even among deniers, who've looked into the 'hockey stick' graph and said "This is nonsense!" Only a small number of deniers who don't wanna believe GW and admit they might be wrong say it's false.
I try to be a skeptic myself, but there's just too many AGW deniers who keep getting debunked and going wild over shit that isn't there, like climategate.
Of course, real science is not a matter of consensus, it is a matter of reproduction, verification, prediction and falsifiability. Mann's hockey stick has none of those factors. When his technique is used to analyze random red noise, it still produces a hockey stick graph. Examination shows that the Medieval Warm period is not on the graph. Peer reviewed studies show the Medieval Warm Period at locations around the world. There were orchards in Greenland then. It was warm. The graph is wrong.
Still on about that stupid climategate nonsense when everyone else has shied away from it and recognized it for the lackluster "expose" that it truly is, CEI?
CEI's ok in my book, but you guys gotta cut out the global warming denial. Just admit the consensus and the science. I mean, just about every denier is eventually proven wrong and shown for the phony that he is anyway. There's very few truly credible climatologists that deny it. Hockey stick graph has never been "debunked."
Your comment doesn't really make sense. What of news that the "glaciers are melting" comes not from a climatologist, but a research working for the WWF, which has nothing to do with climate? And when pressed, that researcher recanted? And we just learned that most of the underlying hockey stick data was simply made up?
whoo689 Are you asleep? One of your climate change leaders has admitted there in no manmade global warming. And as the matter of fact its the opposite, its those who believe in GW are in a small group not the other way around. So chill out on GW. Give it a rest, no one in their right mind will destroy an economy over this nonsensical garbage
Much of the popularity is not in views, but in links. Google and YouTube more than likely have nothing to do with this video being "popular," only with its being available. And, if an availability of ideas is a leaning... more power to them!
Paul Simon is a great song-writer, but he also composed some garbage. Amazing that this piece of crap would be re-used. Even Garfunkel must be surprised.

so you cant..... Why dont they tell you the vast amount of scientists who said that?
nospacesallowed 1 year ago
Don't say I "cant". I just perused a nearby library the old fashioned way. (That way one can read the articles and not just abstracts.)
"Convection in the Antarctic Ice Sheet Leading to a Surge of the Ice Sheet and Possibly to a New Ice Age"
T. Hughes
Science 6 November 1970 170: 630-633
"Recent changes in atlantic surface temperatures"
Nature 6 March 1975 254: 44-45. (Basicaly it states that the Atlantic is 1/6th of the way to a full ice age.)
FiendsInRedSatin1 1 year ago
Here's another one that even includes CO2 along with aerosols.
"Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide and Aerosols: Effects of Large Increases on Global Climate" Science Vol. 173 July, 1971 (The upshot of this article is these fellows thought that although CO2 might warm the Earth, the real danger was global cooling by aerosols which could trigger another ice age. This was seconded by Earl Barrett of NOAA in his apper in Solar Energy in Sept. 1970.)
And I did include Newsweek as well.
FiendsInRedSatin1 1 year ago
And here's another reference. While this isn't an article, it does deserve mention. It appeared in "Nature" (Jan. 17, 1975) under the title of "Aerosols and Climate: Warmer or Cooler". The upshot is that it references original fears of an ice age from aerosols.
FiendsInRedSatin1 1 year ago
So you found 3.... does that seem like a huge amount of scientist? Of course it isn't. The point is that there wasn't a huge amount of scientists, there were a few individual scientists. Heck let me use the newsweek article really quickly.
"Our knowledge of climatic change is fragmentary. Not only are the basic scientific questions largely unanswered but in many cases we dont yet know enough to pose the questions." From the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.
nospacesallowed 1 year ago
Huge amount? I invested only a small amount of my time (I don't have that much to begin with) and only perused two journals that I thought would have material about climate change at my library and only from 1970-1975.
The point is that the ice age scientists were there. Furthermore, as I mentioned from "Aerosols and Climate", the author referenced earlier fears about aerosols causing an ice age. That shows that ice age fears were there.
FiendsInRedSatin1 1 year ago
Let's assume for a second you are right. Scientists at one time thought that the earth was heading into another ice age. So what? Science is a self correcting system, when they get something wrong, Evidence of there error comes to light and they change their minds. This is how science works and why it works so well. In fact it points more to scientists being more willing to change their minds.
nospacesallowed 1 year ago
nospace, that's exactly what I am pointing out here.

Choosing to be willfully ignorant is not conservative or liberal value, it's just stupid. I'd rather trust science than whoever your messiah is.

And which science will you trust?
Al Gores, or the chorus, magnitude of scientists that disagree? THEY are all wrong, eh? Enough of a doubt there to not cripple our country and turn back the clock to candle power without studying it in depth?
Its not about saving the Earth...for the left, its just another tool to cripple America. Thats all their after. They dont give a shit about the Earth.

anothercrapvid 1 year ago
There is not a magnitude of scientist that disagree, there are some, but even those don't make the same silly claims that the conservatives in the media/ anti warming movement make. The fact is that the majority, the vast majority of peer reviewed papers and studies support man made global warming. You may think they are wrong and that is fine, just don't make crazy stupid claims.

If you have all the answers why did you bother leaving a comment?

@nospacesallowed Twenty years scientist were convinced of "Global cooling" and were getting lots of research money to prove it. Now its "global warming" Next it will be some new thing to scare the masses into giving up their life force to big government....
toneo2001 1 year ago 3
BS There was one throw away sentence about a possibility in on paper which did not make it all the way through the peer review process said their could be a significant drop in temp. Time picked it up and said "Scientists say" Hence a myth is born.
Find me the peer reviewed sources that say this, and one isn't sufficient to say that "scientists were convinced" You will have to find many to be able to make that claim. aka link or it did not happen. This is skepticism by the way demand evidence.
nospacesallowed 1 year ago
interesting how a small hand full of scientist where able to keep disagreeable findings being peer reviewed.

Global Warming is a Myth. Not Fact!
Science proves it.
It's all been a scheme by corporations and radical politicians to make money off the backs of the average citizens.

I try to be a skeptic myself, but there's just too many AGW deniers who keep getting debunked and going wild over shit that isn't there, like climategate.
whoo689 1 year ago
Iowahawk does statistical research for a living. He showed step by step how you to make you own hockey stick temp graph, middle of last month.
If you have a list of scientists who say "The hockey stick isn't nonsense" I'd like to see it.
papertigero 1 year ago
Of course, real science is not a matter of consensus, it is a matter of reproduction, verification, prediction and falsifiability. Mann's hockey stick has none of those factors. When his technique is used to analyze random red noise, it still produces a hockey stick graph. Examination shows that the Medieval Warm period is not on the graph. Peer reviewed studies show the Medieval Warm Period at locations around the world. There were orchards in Greenland then. It was warm. The graph is wrong.
inacave 1 year ago
Still on about that stupid climategate nonsense when everyone else has shied away from it and recognized it for the lackluster "expose" that it truly is, CEI?
CEI's ok in my book, but you guys gotta cut out the global warming denial. Just admit the consensus and the science. I mean, just about every denier is eventually proven wrong and shown for the phony that he is anyway. There's very few truly credible climatologists that deny it. Hockey stick graph has never been "debunked."
whoo689 1 year ago
Your comment doesn't really make sense. What of news that the "glaciers are melting" comes not from a climatologist, but a research working for the WWF, which has nothing to do with climate? And when pressed, that researcher recanted? And we just learned that most of the underlying hockey stick data was simply made up?
hcrawford 1 year ago
whoo689 Are you asleep? One of your climate change leaders has admitted there in no manmade global warming. And as the matter of fact its the opposite, its those who believe in GW are in a small group not the other way around. So chill out on GW. Give it a rest, no one in their right mind will destroy an economy over this nonsensical garbage

A popular video critical of global warming policy with all of 306 views... Google is getting pretty transparent on their "leanings".
superduckz 1 year ago
Much of the popularity is not in views, but in links. Google and YouTube more than likely have nothing to do with this video being "popular," only with its being available. And, if an availability of ideas is a leaning... more power to them!
