In the past I have wondered why the family name always was the husband's. It should have come down through the wife. In the past every person knew for sure they are their biological mother's child. @MILLSTREETMED When a wife has a child now, how does the father know it is his child ? He takes his wife's word for it. Or he asks for a DNA test. In the past there was no DNA test so he had only his wife's word. For thousands of years woman have passed off children by other men as their husband's child. I do agree that unmarried women (and men)all over the world (not just the USA) have become a little to liberal for my tastes. But then I am over 60 and we were a bit different when I was young.

If a woman sleeps around you call her a whore, but hat do you call a man that that sleeps around ? I love and cared for my family and I never had an abortion.
