I was a young man living in Brazil back in the late 60's and early 70' when I heard them for the first time. Fell in love with Demis velvet voice and as it turns out, Vangelis finally found an audience in the U.S. with his Chariots of Fire soundtrack.

Demis is one of the best singers I've ever heard. He has a marvellous timbre and a great vocal technique. He has a teardrop in his voice: timbre + fast vibrato. Not to mention his songs, always romantic and sweet.

From the other hand Vangelis who was also in the Aphrodite`s child band is much more famous by far.... As you say he is really a national treasure, both of them i dare to say.

Demis is one of the best singers I've ever heard. He has a marvellous timbre and a great vocal technique. He has a teardrop in his voice: timbre + fast vibrato. Not to mention his songs, always romantic and sweet.

Em resposta ao Sr. CicVideozinho - Meu caro infelizmente não se quem gravou primeiro, acontece que nasci em 1970 e a primeira vez que ouvi esta musica foi em 1979 e estava indo com minha mãe para casa de um primo e quando a música tocou vi uma amiguinha de sala de aula e, sem maldades, percebi que gostava dela.Depois dela, foram várias pessoas que me apaixonei ao som desta música. Wow. Cool band. Dumb name.. thought they were a so called 'R&B' band by the name.. expected to see a bunch of chunky street chicks in corslets dancing around singing about sex.

Is not exactly like that, people that did not listen to foreign music or that kind of music, yes they do not know him, new generations also. But it is a little beat hard to say that he is unknown. From the other hand Vangelis who was also in the Aphrodite`s child band is much more famous by far.... As you say he is really a national treasure, both of them i dare to say.

Ah! Les Aphrodite's Child. Tout à fait dans l'esprit d'époque hippies. Images ralenties. Des musiciens de talent , des VRAIS. Inoubliables, Superbe mélodie, quelle finesse. Guitares acoustique cristaline, La superbe voix de Demis, les bongos de Lucas, le son envoûtant de Vangélis. Un super groupe que je n'oublierai jamais. Si seulement ils pouvaient se reformer...
