  • Hi Ken, thanks for this nice designed plane. I am working on it myself ATM.

I have a question about the 2 vertical stabelizers.

On what angle are the attached to the body?

    Keep up the good work!

    HBFP NL | Eric

  • @HBFPV2 WoW! you may have caught a mistake in the plans. i completely forgot about the vertical stabilizer angle which is 21 degrees (of course). hope i get to see it fly and have fun on the build.

  • @wildhover

Thanks for responding that fast, a WOW too.

Ofcoarse I keep you updated on the progress and maiden, etc.

I also try to keep my blog updated, so more people can get interrested in the FF-21 BlackJack.

    21 degrees! Aha BlackJack :))))))))))

    Greating from Holland

  • If you are looking at a mid-prop and keep it scale looking you need to desde if you want speed or torque. Pluss how big of bomb doors you want for cg

  • @johndog35 i think you are probably talking about my new B-2 project. it's going to be mid-prop based on the majority of the messages i have been getting. bomb door system will be added later if it happens to actually fly. and i want both speed and torque- LOL. it's probably going to be more torque than my usual foam jets. thanks for the input!

  • Excellent choice of music.

  • Yea that is a master cameraman on the 2nd part!

  • @tpdinh77 yup, and it's a master cameraman in training in the 1st part!

  • Bravo man, that FF-21 is done and looking good, flies like crazy, get the plans up on the blog and lets see others make it and fly it. Good job wildhover, keep up the good work. Oh and by the way, I am using the double horned hook with 2 servos like you used on the FF-15 vt, the video was a lot of help. Thanks!

  • @sshoover10 thanks Jake! btw, i was wondering if i could ask a favor.... seems like this plane has some subscribers interested in building it (along with some of the local guys at the flying field here is so cal). so i was wondering if you had the time to make a pdf plan out of it if i sent you the original paper cutouts i used to build it. i'm sure some of the subscribers would really appreciate it. btw, i'm curious how the frill dragon is going.

  • @wildhover "and yes, i still want a Huge motor and 4 cell lipo."

LOL alright, well I cant wait to see it fly! I be watching for your build vid.

    GJ all around looking good

Just make sure you dont run into any birds!

  • Nice video love the style of the FF-21 just a great design, Widhover jr is a natural with the camera gott love it ^5 him.

  • @flyby8906 Thanks Greg. he is a pretty charismatic 4 yr old.

  • Ken... you've done an outstanding job with this aircraft. It is so crisp and tracks extremely well. It gives me a great deal of pleasure to know that you like the KFm4 airfoil. And, you can be very proud of your son as well.May you have many great flights together.

    – Dick Kline

  • @TheDickeroo Always an honor to see your posts on my videos Dick. this plane was such a handful to fly before i put your KFm-4 on. i had to use 20% roll and 30% exponential on the elevator just to tame her down. your airfoil allowed me to delete those settings and now it's all natural flying at 0%. also, it was never able to glide very well. did you see how sweet that landing was at the end?!! it used to drop out of the sky before installing your airfoil!

  • ...

    Great flight.

WH Jr was top notch on the camera.

    Thumbs Up ~ Eric

  • @joehandsome99 yup, my son works much better than trying to use a hat cam with my HD camera. thanks for the thumbs up Eric! hope you are able to catch up on all your reviews.

  • Very very very NICE!

That plane just hugs the air!

! I hope you dont mide but I think i am going to copy what you did with your canopy,(that looks like it does more then just look good) I think i helps with the stability of the plane. That KFM airfoil helped in the wind I see, It help the spitfire I built from Mikeysrc made it real stable in the wind.

Looked like you had some good speed behind it, you sure you want a larger motor? LOL

  • @NoobyRC just like i said in another post, i will be making a build vid (now that i know there are others interested in this plane). the canopy was designed to be a lifting body fuselage because the wing area of this plane was so small and placed far back. personally, i don't really think it helps with the stability of the plane, i think its all KFm-4 that is making it stable.

and yes, i still want a Huge motor and 4 cell lipo. i will probably build a speed version that is bigger next

  • WHAT E-SKY MOTOR AND ESC R U USING?....

WHAT PROP AND LIPO R U USING?....

MY FF-21 IS READY TO FLY AND I WUNT TO USE THE SAME SETTUP YOUR USING.

  • @Pono421 i posted the power system setup in one of the earlier vids on this series (check out part 3 of this series and also my project jackpot x-plane), but i don't really recommend it. if using a 3s 2200 mA 30c lipo, i think you would get better reliability and compatible performance on a 3500kv motor, 30A esc, spinning a 5x5 APC prop. if you really want the same power setup, you can have the one out of this plane for $20 since i'm not happy with it. just email me if your interested

  • @Pono421 also, i'm really interested in seeing pictures or video of your FF-21 since i have not even made plans for it yet. you must be really talented to have copied this plane just from watching the videos!

  • Nice little flyin machine, Ken! Very stable! ...now build one about three times bigger!!! :-) -that would be really awesome! (I like how your 4-yr old gives positive reinforcement!)

  • @TheLipRipp3r: you know what? i think your right about building bigger planes from now on. these little buggers are hard to see at this size. i really wanted to keep the 21 inch wingspan on this one just so that i could call it the BlackJack. my future planes will be between 50%-100% bigger than this one.

  • Flies super nice!

  • @DLPlanes thanks for the comment "D" and "L"

yup, she's a fun one to fly now that everything's dialed in

  • That was great Ken! I've been following this build since the beginning. It looks like you either have it done or just about, since you wussed out on full power ;) BUT VERY NICE!!

  • @minfinger well, i was able to punch the throttle a few times for a few seconds when my buddy Thanh was filming at the end. it probably only does about 65-70 mph. that's why I'm dying to upgrade the power system. i won't wuss out with the bigger motor :)

  • @wildhover Well I look forward to seeing your next video then! Good luck!

  • you rock elvis lol, GREAT WORK KEN. loving the commentry from your son lol. looks like you dialed it in pretty good.

  • @FlyHighRC386 Thanks Mikey! also, i'm glad you were able to find your glider on your last vid.

  • @wildhover uggghhhh no which vid is that, my glider is still ot there some where lol. it has probably been ebayed if it has been found. I will be doing some videos soon. I have a new design that i am very proud of that should fly great there will be a story about it soon.

  • @FlyHighRC386 sweet! cant wait to see what you've come up with

  • Good Job Ken ...She flyin Good!...Great filming by ur son :D

    Cool vid....good editing.....its Rockin!

    Jacques

  • @jacquesone100 yup, she's flying great! now i just need her to go fast so i can join you guys in the triple digit club!

  • Awesome Ken! Looks like it flies great. haa haa, love the Elvis music too. Keep up the awesome work and cool videos!

    Paul

  • @rcFoamFighters thanks Paul. I'm really getting much better at using the editing software you gave me.

  • Everything's better with a KFm4 on it! LOL

    Sweet flying.

  • got to love that kid !

    looks great dad ...nice

    grtzzzzz

  • @poerik i noticed that you always have your family out when you fly in your vids. it's great that my son is taking some interest in my rc planes now that he is getting bigger. it's always more fun with family

  • @wildhover

lol no not all-way's i wish i had some family with me ..

but your son will out-fly you soon if you let him ..

    grtzzzz

  • Nice edit ken... what motor/esc/battery combo did you end up using?

  • @rowdyrodcumming its still the original esky setup that i want to replace with a bigger motor. i really just posted the video to show off the KFm-4 and how well it made my little plane fly. I'm still deciding on the upgrade so stay tuned for that

  • Cool video, but a tip for your cameraman; "A little less conversation"; one of the lyrics in the music track. LOL Just kidding, EVERYONE does that, including me! Nice camera work and editing.

    Dan

  • @parrotpilot LOL! yeah, Thanh is usually pretty funny with his comments but he just can't compete with the king... Elvis, when it comes to vocals
