i believe the song was randys idea of joking about racism and judgement upon other people in his time...thats why it switches halfway and claims short people arent all that bad and that were all brothers until the day we die...

I absolutely love how this song has no point or hidden message, but it's sole purpose is to force short people into pretending they like it and carry the humiliation, or else be blamed of not understanding the non existing message.

You know, I always thought this song was about someone who didn't want kids! "Ya gotta pick them up to say hello" "tiny hands, tiny feet" " don't want no short people 'round me" doesn't that sound like someone not too fond of the parenting idea to you? It has to me since I first heard it in the 70's. It is a GREAT song, written by a brilliant writer! Keep up the good work, and don't let the complainers get to ya Mr. Newman!
