Christians need to read their bibles to understand the differences in Old Covenant of lawkeeping VS the New Covenant of Grace (unearned and unmerited favor).

The tithes are meant to keep the church running and for the ministry to the needy. They are not meant to fatten the preacher's pockets. It is true, you can't beat God giving. Tithes should be given out of obedience to God, not man, and an offering should be given out of love. When done in this spirit, God returns the blessing in a multiplied form.

The scripture is talking about the first fruits of your increase, since most of us do not harvest "natural fruits" it would then be. The Word does not change. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Now there are some preachers who have taken the prosperity message out of context, but that is why it is important to rely on the Holy Spirit and not on your emotions.

Christians need to read their bibles to understand the differences in Old Covenant of lawkeeping VS the New Covenant of Grace (unearned and unmerited favor).
The first covenant was based on external laws & and laws the second was an unconditional covenant of unearned favor called Grace because of the payment Jesus made.

The tithes are meant to keep the church running and for the ministry to the needy. They are not meant to fatten the preacher's pockets. It is true, you can't beat God giving. Tithes should be given out of obedience to God, not man, and an offering should be given out of love. When done in this spirit, God returns the blessing in a multiplied form.

The scripture is talking about the first fruits of your increase, since most of us do not harvest "natural fruits" it would then be. The Word does not change. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Now there are some preachers who have taken the prosperity message out of context, but that is why it is important to rely on the Holy Spirit and not on your emotions.

@tarheel1217 Remember, Jesus did not destroy the law, He fulfilled it. Just because it is in the old testament does not mean that it is irrelevant. The Ten Commandments, for example, still have to be followed, but it is not the law that saves us but our faith. Tithing and offerings do not save us, but they are the vehicle that allows ministry to go forth in this world.

Many of these TV evangelist already have thier reward. They live for the God of thier bellies. They will answer for it in the end.
They need to get off of F_cebook, and fall on thier faces before God, and cry out for a real message to spread to the world. If they spent thier millions to spread the word of the Lord, the gospel intead of buying houses, cars, jet planes to fly to the golf courses, and thier summer homes, then think of the impact that they could have had.
