@SkynyrdLover1 If this helps narrow it down...I've read that Allen Collins wore that hat onstage a few times during the bi-centennial year, so that would've made it '76. The story goes that he really liked it and enjoyed wearing it!

@streetsurviver Red Beard did alot of interviews with Skynyrd and RCB...remember that DJ ...I use to listen to him every week...and yes he is still around in LA from the last time we talked to him...when we did talk to him we asked him about some Skynyrd interviews and the phone went silent...then he said he was actually working on an old interview of Rossington from Skynyrd when we called...freaked him out ......he said the hairs on his arms stood up...

Thanks for putting this together...Skynyrd was such a singularity in the history of music ...a thoroughly genuinely 'real' bunch of guys. They must be remembered because they were such a perfect storm of talent...that will probably never be seen again.

I like to think they were too good for this earth and God called them to play for him.

Tony, You outdid yourself buddy. What a must see for all Skynyrd fans as well as for folks who have always had misconceptions of this bands true talent. The Billy Powell part sent chills up my back as the first time I ever heard him, before Skynyrd, he was playing Lady Madonna on an old upright at Bishop Kenny HS....and Leon in his roadster driving across the Buckman was classic, that boy loved his cars....what else can I say the whole vid brought tears to my eyes...thanks for sharing this.
