lol i was blessed with my first 7 battles, i rented myself a technician scizor with bullet punch, x-scissor, swords dance, and baton pass. he'd steam roll through at least one of the pokemon, but most of the time, he'd completley walk all over two or three. if he was in a tight spot, he could simply baton pass swords dance off to gallade or (after a lot of trading) steelix, and it worked out rather well. scizor is a beast, i think i'll ev train one for myself and use him on the battle tower :3

what happens when you turn off the DS when you've lost a battle?

can you lost ALL of your saved data? or only the battles of that set of 7battles?

(it's difficult to mantain a streak)

@lalopikachu As you may have noticed, the game saves before every single attempt you make at the Battle Frontier. To just quit would essentially count as a loss and the game will recognize it. You'll then be forced to start your whole streak over from the very start. This is the game's way of making sure nobody, for lack of better terms, pussies their way through the Battle Frontier. It is either go big or go home.

@dragonsalty Never played the Battle Factory, have you? Those Pokemon aren't my own: They're rentals meant specifically for the Battle Factory. You pick three to choose from in the start and every battle you win, you can switch one of the Pokemon the opponent used for one of your own. So I couldn't evolve them, even if I wanted to. Once the streak was over, I had to return the rental Pokemon.

When I fought him, he had Luxray, Registeel and Raikou. All I had was Shiftry, Swampert and Starmie...I was VERY lucky to have Starmie!

@o94ght Nope, I mean Starmie. Swampert only defeated Registeel and died because Luxray had Energy Ball, Shiftry died in one hit, so two were left for Starmie - two of which were electric types. High speed + Surf + a miracle = win!

@yogini1988 He basically had nothing else that would work against a normal type... except for Fling and his Iron Ball. Which he used against my Golbat to make it susceptible to ground type moves (which Dusknoir lacked anyway).

why did you keep on using accupressure? what's the point of highering accuracy if you're gonna use faint attack?

@MrPhantoful Acupressure randomly enhances a random stat greatly, so it isn't like I had a choice.

But the reason why I spammed it is because I knew all of the Dusknoir's moves and knew it couldn't hurt my Dodrio further than a burn. But while Trick Room was still up, I didn't want to KO Dusknoir and then still be slower than the next Pokemon (Jynx). So, Acupressure stalled for time until Trick Room's effect ended, then KO'd it and did damage to the next Pokemon. The strategy won me the battle.

this guy isnt really that hard. main goal is to keep trading to get better pokemon and use easy common knowledge. the real problem is getting to him.

Does it make a difference if you go for the Battle Factory (or any of them) on level 50 rather than open level

@firegremln I believe "Open Level" is just used only in the Battle Factory, even which all rental Pokemon are level 100. The Pokemon seen here are "stronger" than the Level 50 rounds, but still follow a certain category arrangement in difficulty. You can fight Thorton here, but he will in turn use stronger Pokemon from a higher difficulty level against you. In the end, all that matters is personal preference.

@themc73 The number he says is actually just purely a randomly spewed out number and not your chances of winning. I've had a number as high as 89 and got creamed like nothing. For this battle, he said 16% and I won.

It is a computer and it cannot tell the future. And remember he said something along the lines of "...what does the number mean? Oh, don't let it concern you."

@zeroscrape Well belive it or not, I had a 12% chance and I still beat him. Alot of miracles happend to me though. It was all thanks to my machamp who landed a critical hit when I needed it.

@MrSuperstorm21 yeah me too burning his gastrodon with my porygons tri attack was very lucky and pretty much decieded the battle and I too had many criticals occur so I dont know if I would of won without the luck ... but whatever its still a win :D

And I always curse the people who got a good luck of the draw. This place does tests you on your knowledge of Pokemon, but sometimes it is indeed a luck of the draw as well.
